On the night of May 28, the Russian military launched new wave of strikes in the Ukrainian rear regions. Russian kamikaze UAVs targeted Ukrainian military facilities in the Kiev and Cherkassy regions, while heavy bombs and missiles pounded Ukrainian military positions in the war-torn Kharkiv region.
A series of Russian strikes destroyed targets in the town of Borovaya in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian media shared photos of fires in the settlement. According to the local reports, one of the targets of the Russian strikes was the building of the Nova Poshta, largest private Ukrainian postal and courier company, that is largely used by the Ukrainian military. Most of the facilities of the company were turned into military warehouses and they are regularly targeted by Russian strikes.

The intensity of Russian strikes in the Ukrainian strategic rear has decreased in the recent days. Despite the massive attack on the night of May 26, which was likely a response to the strikes in Crimea and damage to the strategic Voronezh-DM radar in the Krasnodar region and which inflicted heavy damage to the Ukrainian military facilities, including several airfields, throughout the country, the Russian military preferred the regular pinpoint strikes with kamikaze drones and missiles. Most of the recent Russian attacks targeted Ukrainian military and industrial facilities but not the Ukrainian energy infrastructure that is close to collapse as a result of the massive Russian strikes months ago after the cold winter ended.
