On October 1, a Russian Pantsir-S1 (SA-22 Greyhound) system intercepted two Grad missiles fired by militants in the province of Hama.
S-400 Triumf and Pantsir-S1 missile systems that were deployed in Syria covered Russian forces stationed at Khmeimim airbase. S300 and Pantsir-S1 missile systems also protected a Russian Navy logistics center in Tartus.

The Pantsir-S1 carries highly mobile solid fuel radio-command-guided 57E6 surface-to-air missiles with an operational range of 20 km (~12.5 miles) and flight altitude of 10 km (~ 6 miles).
The Pantsir-S1 started development in 1990 using a 2K22 Tunguska as a base. The first Pantsir-S1 model was demonstrated in 1995, and was officially employed by the Russian Army in 2012.
Nice one, it is good to see what the S300 and Pantsir manage to find, courtesy of those who want to pillage the natural resources of Syria for their own benefit.
beautiful job russia …. these zio satanic terrorists are sure well equipped by the yankee led coalition no doubt – scumbags
And the Sunni Oil rich countries,Without whom.
Looks like they can intercept pretty muvh everything but Israeli missiles. Those dance too much.
If the J Ooze shoot at the Russian facilities, the Russians will respond. Otherwise, its not their problem…. What don’t you get?
They ooze but they aren’t J, they’re zionists, a different group altogether,
Well, if thats the case, why Israel got no balls to attack a Russian facility in all these years? Oh, they are not that brave. Or not that stupid…
bacause russia did not affect their actions
Strange that Israel went whining to the Americans asking for more engagement in Syria.
The fact that Israeli planes don’t enter Syrian airspace is another sign that their actions “have been affected”
When have the Israeli’s fired a missile at the Russians? I’ve only read about them targeting Hezbollah and Syrian installations.
Nobody is going to tell you when they intercept israeli missiles.
whitecockie, firstly, everybody would sjout loud, secondly we know, all missieles fired from il planes found the target.
You vaunt such experience and come out with this nonsense. And no, we don’t know nothing, the only thing that is evident is that Israeli planes don’t get into Syria anymore.
I’m all for the success of an interception like the one being reported but, the pictured missile certainly wasn’t hit by an HE frag round… A mallet perhaps.
how would you know? 3/4 of the rocket body are missing. seriously dude.
You’re right. I wouldn’t know. But I’m thinking a fragmentation of round would leave a few marks even on the tail end. The fins aren’t even dented. So again, I don’t know.
Who said the one in photo is THE very missile that was taken out? Probably stock just to show what they look like as in the second photo in the museum or whatever it is.
testera is right have you folks noticed that the pic is a Tunguska missile rather than the Grad? I didn’t notice myself until I saw the “motif” on the 57e6
Pictured thing is the first stage of 57E6 (it provides initial boost for 2 seconds, then separates). https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b7a5752ab364329a7cbe7cbde0b9ee7d8df097434b284ba4be7463ae2121f0c9.jpg
I’m a strong supporter of the success of the Syrian government in prevailing in this war regime change (as well as a support of the Russian mission in Syria). Unfortunately, I’ve heard a couple of things coming out of the Russian Ministry of Defence that are questionable at least. The capture of the T2 pumping station is a case in point. I hope this isn’t another one.
Propaganda coming out of the state department and the Pentagon are reasons I look for information from RT, Al Masdar news, and SouthFront. It’s important to me that info coming from the Russian MoD remains credible.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen a few instances recently where it has not been so.
nice :)))
