Members of the Russian Military Police held the 7th meeting with a local opposition coommittee in an area north of the government-held city of Homs.
According to local sources, the sides once again discussed the deliveries of humanitarian aid to the area and the possible reopening of the M5 highway, which links the provinces of Hama and Homs.
However, no agreement on the highway was reached. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) had a notable influence in the area and prevents the rest of the “opposition” from reaching an agreement with the Russians.
Russian military has gained the respect of all sides in this war…..
according to most commenters here russia is negotiating with terrorists. same evil as yanks. ;)
moderate opossition….and its necessary in a civil war..you cant kill everyone….US deals with ISIS totally different thing
the whole time everybody repeated here, that there are no moderate rebels. this is the concept of moscow, too. so, dont begin now with stupidities.
i always wonder, how deep are able people lick the ass of their favorites and consume each bullshit.
:))))) its true i always said that the term ‘moderate’ is stupid….but given the number of different groups of fighters in Syria we cannot put them all in one basket. ISIS is different than all others except maybe HTS which are international terrorists…..other groups are just stupid pawns in a regional game. there are groups that are just plain mercenaries ….foreign citizens that just kill whatever for money….
all right, i answered already to barba papa, my 1st comment was irony addressed for megahaters :)
have a nice day! :)
I think the Russians have been fairly consistent, more then us, who call them all headchoppers. Moscow has clearly stated its not interested in a military solution for the whole of Syria. It only wants to crush ISIS and Al Qaida and its affiliates. The rest Moscow has offered to negotiate with. That is why time after time after time it has asked the US to separate its socalled ‘Moderates’ from Al Qaida. Which time after time after time the US has been unable or unwilling to do. Not only that the US keeps funneling weapons and intel to Al Qaida and ISIS via its proxies, and seems unable or unwilling to stop this as well. Probably because the US wants to use Al Qaida and ISIS against Assad.
i wrote ironically on the addres of haters ;)
