A Russian service member was reportedly killed during clashes with militants in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib.
Reports in Russina social media say that the killed service member was Warrant Officer Mikhail Klimensov of the Russian Armed Forces. Kilmensov was reportedly killed on January 14. On that day, the al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room, a militant coalition in Greater Idlib, claimed that it had foiled an infiltration attempt near the town of al-Enkawi in the al-Ghab Plains by Russian and Syrian special forces.
Al-Fateh al-Mubeen, however, didn’t report any casualties in the January 14 infiltration attempt. This raises doubts regarding reports about the death of the Russian service member.

Russian and Syrian special forces conducted three raids in al-Ghab Plains on January 11, 14 and 15. Eleven militants were killed in the January 11 raid only.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has not commented on the claims of Kilmensov’s death so far. Usually, the Russian military announces its casualties in Syria within a few days.
Russian troops are deployed on all frontlines around Greater Idlib, where they actively provide support to Syrian troops and conduct their own operations. The death of Kilmensov, if it is confirmed, will likely provoke a fierce response from the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Until the MoD pronounce himself about it, we don’t know yet, it could clearly be bullshit just to bump up a little bit the moral of the terrorist scum, since they are being purge from the area.
Hopefully just fake news, we’ll have to wait and see for a confirmation.

RIP to a brave Russian defending the world against US terrorism. Russia and Iran are big countries with large armies, they should just flood Syria with ground forces and push the terrorists back into Turkey, the only base for global terrorism now. India sealed the long Punjab border with Pakistan and all terrorism stopped. Iran and Russia need to do the same, as US agenda is to bog Russia into a long terror war using Wahhabi proxies from Turkey.
