On November 18, Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers struck ISIS targets near the Syrian border city of al-Bukamal for the third time in a week. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the strike destroyed targeted ISIS’ manpower, vehicles and weapons.
Previously, Russian strategic bombers pounded terrorists in the area on November 17 and November 15.
The strikes came aimd the continued intense fighting between the Syrian Army and ISIS in the area. Al-Bukamal is the last ISIS stronghold in Syria.

How is possible that such a big plane carries only 6 bombs???
How is it possible that Ru bombers are bombing a city that, acc to Ru MOD, was liberated over a week ago and, acc to them, all tales of IS being in AB were fake news?

It was liberated, but ISIS took it again 4-5 days ago, that is nothing new in that war because SAA don’t have enough man power for all fronts they are engaged!!! SAA fights in Syria with ISIS, FSA, Kurds, USA, Israel, Turkey, Al Nusra Front,….., so they must redeploy forces from battle to battle!!! But for day or two the town will be free again, don’t you “worry”, Russian bombers will fix the situation!!!

The headline says “NEAR AB” and not AB city. The city was liberated and now SAA want to liberate its vicinity, hence the bombers are bombing those vicinities. You want to prove MoD lies, yet it’s you who misread the headline of this post. Come with another excuse, not this one.

RU MOD is not spreading fake news, ISIS and their handlers are the fake news propagaters. So, Russian Air Force bombed Abu Khamal and Syrian and Hezbollah forces took the city after ISIS units withdrew south, south east; of course the coalition Air Force did not molest retreating ISIS forces who were reinforced with those fleeing Iraq, and counterattacked Abu Khamal.

On the 8th Ru MOD gave the report AB was taken. Despite even SAA acknowledging they, or their allies, were kicked out of AB either the 9th or the tenth, Ru MOD insisted this was all fake news and AB was and is taken.
So in their fabricated story, when they now say they are bombing AB, either they are now lying or they were lying last week.
It can all be found in SF reports over the last week.

Moscow is not going to provide day by day commentary on the battle, from their standpoint the city was taken despite some unforeseen tactical developments that did not materialize to immediate ISIS benefit. It was you who was notoriously pointing the bad week SAA and the Russians were having when ISIS attacked several points along Sukhana- Deir Ezzor axis, only to find out that ISIS was badly mauled in their US directed counterattack.

Extended range reduces payload, these bombers are flying from Russia and don’t do air refueling over Iran or Iran. Quite likely the bombs are 1000 kgs, if the bombers were to fly from the airbase in Iran the plane could carry a payload of 20,000 kgs.

Because they don’t use air refueling above Iran or Iraq, so they need to sacrifice the bomb payload to fuel payload. Anyhow this is still 6x1000kg bombs and this makes a big diference comparing to 250 or 500 kg bombs usualy droped from the atack planes.

I seriously doubt the effectiveness of those TU22 raids. Given what the ResistanceAxis forces uncovered in terms of quantities of ammo/tanks in virtually open field conditions – I simply wonder why the Russians didn’t take these targets out during all those months prior. Are the Russians being honest towards Syria? Or do they have a deal with Israel to prevent the Syrian army from being too strong to retake the Golan? Most likely such a deal exists; all objective metrics point towards this.
These missions are excellent for combat training/testing, just like all of those seemingly unnecessary launches of cruise missiles. It is surely more effective to drop those bombs here, than on some training ground in Russia. Videos like this are also good for morale of troops and general population, and bad for morale of dutchnational and his fellow jihadists. All in all, money well spent.
Moment, the point here is that Russia can use kalibr precision missiles, helicopters, ans Su-planes, night vision helicopters to protect and support grorund troops, and we do not see anything like this.
Just because you don’t see daily videos and combat livestream doesn’t mean things are not happening. Giving enemy information is a very dumb thing to do in any war, and Russians are not dumb. Tactical airstrikes are most efficient thing here and they are happenening all day, every day. Strategic bombers and cruise missiles are useful against strategic targets, and there are not many of those left.
