Damage in Troitsk
On the night of May 7, Russian precision strikes were reported in the eastern regions of Ukraine. Another attack reportedly targeted Ukrainian energy facilities in the Sumy region.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, an energy substation was damaged as a result of the Russian attack in this region. The Ukrainian authorities did not clarify the exact target of the strikes.
‘The overhead line and six other substations were disconnected, household consumers were de-energized.’- stated in the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials traditionally claim damage to civilian facilities but they do not clarify that the energy facilities serve the needs of the Ukrainian military.
Another revealed target of the Russian night strikes was the building of the police department in the town of Troitsk (Dzerzhinsk) in the Donetsk People’s Republic. According to preliminary data, the facility was destroyed by a KAB-500 heavy bomb. As a result of the strike, the building was destroyed, as well as the vehicles parked on the territory. Such facilities are always used for accommodation of the Ukrainian military and foreign fighters in the towns located near the frontlines.
