On September 9th, the Russian Ministry of Defense published photographs presenting an exercise of the tank crews of the Baltic Fleet. It took place on NATO’s “Eastern Border” in the Kaliningrad region.

The photographs show the training of the 11th separate tank regiment of the 11th Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet deployed in Gusev, Kaliningrad Region, formed in 2018.
The regiment is equipped with modernized T-72B3 tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles delivered to the Kaliningrad Region.

In recent days, it appears that the Russian Armed Forces are either receiving some brand new battle tanks or are organizing tank trainings.
Examples include:
- In accordance with the plan for the rearmament of the units of the Navy’s Coastal Forces with modern models of military equipment, the Primorsky Marine Corps of the Pacific Fleet received T-80BV battle tanks;
- Tank crews of a motorized rifle formation of the Southern Military District at the Prudboy training range fired at long range from a cannon of the T-90A tank at emerging and moving targets as part of a bilateral tactical training company in the Volgograd Region;

- Tank crews of the Southern Military District performed live firing at the Kadamovsky training ground in the Rostov Region. Tankers fired from the cannons of the T-72B3 tanks with a standard projectile, as well as from a large-caliber anti-aircraft machine gun at emerging and moving targets that simulate a moving tank, anti-tank grenade launcher and recoilless artillery gun of a conventional enemy from a place and a move, at distances from 300 to 2000 m.

These developments are likely connected to the holiday of Russian tank personnel, which is customarily celebrated on the second Sunday of September, which was the 7th this year.
The holiday was established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 1st, 1946 to commemorate the great merits of armored and mechanized forces in the defeat of the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the merits of tank builders in equipping the country’s Armed Forces with armored vehicles.

Russia should hold more joint exercises with allies like Iran, China, Syria, Cuba, Serbia, Belarus, Venezuela etc in combined arms deployment. The new technology and armored assault doctrine should be passed on to Russia’s allies. The tank biathlon and joint exercises with some nations is a good start.

Russia still won the 2nd War. The US and UK was just a sideshow in comparison. Most of the German military strength was depleted on the Russian Front.
All the US and UK really achieved was the massive destruction of German cities with airpower.

Kaliningrad is a slum. It used to be the beautiful German city of Koenigsberg before the Russians stole it.

Tired no. I am a kind of partly retired. Here and there I sometimes works more then full time, then there are nothing, a full day or even less then half a day.
In August 18 to 24 I worked 52 hours. The last days I have had nothing but has been claening my small garden for the autum taking in the first fruit as well as reducing the strawberries.
I also have started a small glass house for making very early and very late tomates(we have a short seasin for plants like them). The sides supporting the roof are ready and by reused tree.
The glass will be TRAPEZ in plastic in stead of glass. Its a little more expensive but I can make the exact seize by a very good knife and break it. Iam not good handling glass and its heavy and difficult for my scooter as well.

We use that material a lot in Denmark for smaller buildings and incl. addings too for small houses and garages. You have to remember to build “with the wind”.
At my old house I had and aneex with that kind of roof. Very good. No windows needed and neighbors could not see in. It could be to warm, so I had to open the door but was very good in cold and rainy days for drying clothe as well.
