Russian Troops Advance In Pokrovsk And Along Yanchur Line (Videos)

On October 20, the Russian military advanced in several areas from the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk direction to the line along the Yanchur River in the Dnepropetrovsk direction.

To the east of Pokrovsk, the Tsentr [Center] Group of Forces began storming the southern part of Myrnohrad from nearby Balahan, which was captured very recently. It’s worth noting that Russian troops are already attempting to advance in the eastern part of the large settlement, although Ukrainian troops are still showing resistance there.

The Tsentr Group of Forces made additional gains in Pokrovsk itself, capturing the railway station building in the heart of the city.

Kiev forces are still fighting, however, in the Gornyak neighborhood and other areas in the southwestern part of the city. This small pocket within the city is very much a kill zone. Still, Ukraine continues to send more reinforcements in an attempt to hold on to it.

To the west of Pokrovsk, the Tsentr Group of Forces captured Lenino, also known as Molodetske, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The main target of the ongoing attack in this area is Novopavlivka, located just a few kilometers to the southwest of Lenino. The next stop for Russian troops will likely be Novomykolaivka, right to the south of Lenino. After that, the troops could advance directly towards Biliakivka, then Novopavlivka itself.

It’s worth noting that Russian troops had already captured Filiya, to the southwest of Novopavlivka. Thus, Kiev forces in Novopavlivka could soon find themselves trapped in the largest settlement.

Moving further to the west to Dnepropetrovsk, the Vostok [East] Group of Forces continue to advance southward along the Yanchur River.

Russian troops have reportedly launched an attack from Pryvillya, crossed the river to the south and stormed Zlahoda. Preliminary reports indicate that the settlement will be captured very soon, possibly within a few days. The troops will not likely stop there. An attack on Rybne, then Pryvil’ne and Pavlivka further south along the river is expected.

Ukrainian defenses along the Yanchur are clearly collapsing, and once the line along the river is fully secured, the Vostok Group of Forces will likely begin advancing towards Huliapole, a key stronghold for Kiev forces in the direction of Zaprorozhye.

Overall, Kiev forces are facing real problems from Pokrovsk to the Yanchur River. Ukraine is still prioritizing the defense of the first, despite all recent failures there. A breakthrough to the west of the river is to be expected, another towards Novopavlivka is also possible, although less likely for the time being.
