On December 25, the Russian military made additional gains in the city of Huliaipole, and broke through Ukrainian defenses in two other areas in Zaporizhzhia.

The Vostok [East] Group of Forces advanced in the heart of Huliaipole, mainly in Sobornaya Street where Russian troops reportedly managed to capture the headquarters of Ukraine’s 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade. The troops also expanded their control in the northern part of the city.

Meanwhile to the south of the city, the troops advanced in the outskirts, capturing a large strip of the T-0401 to the north of Dorozhnianka.

Including the latest gains, well over 70 percent of Huliaipole is now under Russian control. Despite bringing in large reinforcements in recent days, Kiev forces are still incapable of conducting any counterattack as a result of intense air and artillery strikes by the Vostok Group of Forces.

The group’s drone units are also restricting the movement of Ukrainian troops inside Huliaipole, and to the north of it along the Haichur River.

To the west in Zaporizhzhia, the situation is not any better for Kiev forces. The Vostok Group of Forces has reportedly broken through Ukrainian defenses in Novoandreevka, right to the south of the city of Orikhiv, which is, just like Huliaipole, a key Ukrainian logistics and command hub.

At least a quarter of Novoandreevka was already under Russian control. The latest breakthrough could seal the fate of the settlement, trap Ukrainian troops deployed to east before Mala Tokmachka, and put Russian troops right on the southern entrance of Orikhiv.

Further to the west in Zaporizhzhia, the Vostok Group of Forces has reportedly made gains in three areas around Stepnohirsk.

Russian troops right to the north of Stepnogorsk, securing a large area. Kiev forces are still, however, holding up at the center of the settlement.

The troops also advanced to the east of the settlement, approaching Pavlovka. Meanwhile to the west along the Dnieper River, the troops expanded their control in the southern part of Prymorskoye. These developments could be a sign of a near Ukrainian collapse in this direction.

Despite reinforcing its forces in Zaporizhzhia in recent days, Ukraine is still struggling in every direction. Kiev forces no longer have the ability to hold onto all of their current positions in the region. All in all, the Ukrainian collapse will likely continue and accelerate in coming weeks.
