The Russia military has employed the advanced “Stupor” anti-drone electromagnetic gun for the first time since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, a source in defense circles told the TASS News Agency on July 6.
The Stupor gun was engineered by the Russian Defense Ministry’s Main Robotics R&D and Testing Center to counter drones within a direct visibility range. The system was first unveiled at the Army 2017 international arms show.
The gun emits electromagnetic impulses primarily designated to knock out the control channel of a drone that loses communications with an operator under the impact of electromagnetic radiation, causing it to lose flight control and crash. It can also suppress navigation and transmittance channels of drones, and their photo and video cameras in the optoelectronic band. The gun operates at a range of two kilometers in a 20-degree sector.
TASS’s source said that the electromagnetic gun demonstrated fairly high efficiency of their use and are easy to operate.
“By aiming at a target and simply pressing the button, the Stupor deadens the control signal between an operator and a drone, following which the Ukrainian UAV is neutralized and grounded at a required place. The need for these portable counter-drone systems became obvious in the wake of a large number of drones and various small copters used by the Ukrainian military,” the source explained.
According to the unnamed source, the Stupor gun was successfully employed in the west of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Kiev forces have been effectively using light and ultralight commercial drone to monitor and even attack Russian troops. In response to this threat, the Russian military began to equip its troops in Ukraine with anti-drone systems like the Stupor, the Harpoon-2M and the Harpoon-3.
Russian efforts to counter Ukrainian drones have been paying off. Today, Kiev forces are using drones less then when the Russian special military operation first started.

They were proved wrong at the Munich conference in 2007 on the expanding role of NATO warmongers in Ukraine and Russian areas of influence like Georgia, Armenia and the Stans.
By 2008 the US and NATO were provoking war in Georgia with a tie chewing Saakashvili idiot, who ater fled to Ukrainian Nazis. By then Russian and NATO relations had already deteriorated to a cold war level, and then Russia and Iran in 2014 onwards deployed units in Syria to protect the legitimate government of Dr. Bashar al Assad from being overrun by alCIAda and ISIS Wahhabi headchoppers created and funded by Zionists and CIA. NATO and UK and US in particular started a low level war against Russia in 2014 by encroaching on Russian majority Don Bas and killing Russians and other minorities. Russia had no choice but to support and protect its people. It liberated Crimea and stabilized the Don Bas front. However, with the Zionist Maidan Coup it was clear that NATO and Jews were out to create mayhem in Ukraine, which historically has been part of Russia, its culture, language and soul. The introduction of Nazis in Don Bas left Russia no choice but to launch operation Z.
Now in practical terms Russia is fighting NATO and despite some earlier miscalculations has recovered well. These NATO criminal warmongering pack of blood sucking leeches have armed the idiotic AFU with $200 billion in the most modern weaponry, but Russians have still managed to liberate over 30% of Kievan-Rus at a modest cost in manpower and equipment, but has decimated the AFU being sent into a suicidal war by a corrupt Jew Zelensky clown hiding in the basement and sending young Slavs to die for a lost cause. Russia has barely used 10% of its capability and if the Ukrainian nationalists don’t eliminate the Zio-Nazi Zelensky cabal, Russia will unleash real hell. It is best for the real Ukrainians to sue for peace and agree to come under Russian aegis in a denazified and demilitarized Ukraine.
If the Ukrainians don’t come to their limited senses, Russia will take off the gloves and literally obliterate Ukraine from the map. President Putin has clearly stated so and this limited pause in the tempo of red Army operations will only last till the G-20 summit is over and then hell is coming to Ukraine.
