On the night of September 23, the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation launched their first strikes with upgraded aerial bombs on targets in the rear city of Zaporozhie. Footage shared by Ukrainian sources confirmed a series of explosions in the city.
These are the first recorded strikes of Russian heavy aerial bombs in Zaporozhie. According to Ukrainian reports, at least seven strikes thundered in the city. As a result of the attack, part of the city was cut off from electricity supplies. The bombs struck an energy substation in the eastern part of the city.
Three months ago, upgraded Russian FAB heavy bombs of different types began destroying their targets in the city of Kharkiv. Today, they managed to reach targets in the southern city of Zaporozhie. The range of Russian heavy bombs with planning and correction modules was reportedly increased by Russian military specialists. Russian aircraft can also reach targets in the deeper Ukrainian rear thanks to the ongoing advance of Russian troops on the Donbass frontlines.
The Russian military has a wide range of upgraded FAB heavy aerial bombs in service. They became a game changer and played important role in Russian offensive operations, for example in the battle for Avdeevka. Today, they are widely used in all directions on the frontlines. Pounding Ukrainian strongholds, upgraded heavy bombs support Russian advance.

unnecessary with the universal planning and correction module. it would take 100 planes to achieve the results of one fighter with four ordinance with those modules. much less pilot loss and less munitions needed to achieve better results. they upgrade them as they learn from the smo as well. highly effective method of utilizing old technology and making it far more lethal to the enemy.
this is a great way to run recon as well. wait til you have them on target, they think their command post is far enough away, and filled for a meeting, then boom. this causes 5-6 other command posts that you didn’t detect to suddenly move further from the line of contact, exposing themselves, and this is the time you show off your ‘extended range’ capabilities with determined success.
