On October 12, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) carried out a series of airstrikes on ISIS’s areas of influence in Syria’s central region.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the airstrikes targeted hideouts of ISIS cells in the outskirts of the town of Resafa in the southern countryside of Raqqa. The London-based monitoring group didn’t provide any information on the results of the airstrikes.

The VKS stepped up its operations against ISIS cells in the central region in the last few weeks to help Syrian government forces crop the terrorist group’s influence.

On October 6, Russian warplanes provided close air support to government forces during clashes with ISIS cells near the town of al-Sukhnah in the eastern countryside of Homs. Later on October 9, a series of Russian airstrikes targeted caves near Resafa where ISIS cells had been taking shelter.

Most of ISIS recent attacks in the central region took place in the eastern Homs countryside and the southern Raqqa countryside. However, the terrorist group’s cells are also known to be present in the eastern Hama countryside, the southern Aleppo countryside and the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The terrorist group’s insurgency in the central region, which has been ongoing for around four years now, will not likely end in the near future.

How about hunting Ukronazis terrorists closer to Russian borders? Arestovici is still alive? He admires and emulates ISIS.
