The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have foiled a drone attack and destroyed a number of high-value targets in Greater Idlib and northern Aleppo, the Sputnik news agency reported.

Late on April 29, VKS warplanes shot down six drones which were simultaneously launched from militants’ posts in northwestern Hama and northeastern Lattakia.

According to Sputnik, several “strategic headquarters” of the militants in northwestern Hama were also targeted by Russian warplanes.

“The airstrikes targeted strategic headquarters of armed terrorist groups, including a warehouse of weapons and ammunition, in addition to armored vehicles which were situated in the site” a senior security source told Sputnik.

Opposition sources also reported at least one Russian airstrike on a post of the so-called Syrian National Army in the Turkish-occupied village of Kafr Khasher in northern Aleppo. A day earlier, heavy clashes between Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed militants took place near the village. At least ten fighters were killed.

The VKS complex operation was likely a response to the militants’ repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in Greater Idlib.

The militants, led by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, continue to challenge the ceasefire agreement which was brokered by Russia and Turkey on March of last year. A recent report revealed that al-Qaeda factions in Greater Idlib are now preparing a large-scale offensive against the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.

Routine as usual, normal skimming work of some dozens NATO agents disguised as Islamists, nothing new under the sun in Idleb.
