The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF), supported by the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, continue operations against the ISIS terrorist group in the eastern part of Homs province. The mid-term goal is to secure the al-Maher oil fiend and took al-Sha’er oil-rich regions and set a buffer zone around them.
The army and the NDF already pushed ISIS terrorists from the al-Maher oil fiend and set a 10 km buffer zone around it.
The Russian Aerospace Forces have been providing an air support to the government forces on the ground. Since Monday, Russian warplanes and attack helicopters have hit about 50 ISIS targets in the province, according to local pro-government sources.
