On September 6, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces conducted more than seven airstrikes on the towns of Kafr Zita and al-Tamanah, which are located near the administrative border between the governorates of Hama and Idlib, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Furthermore, the Syrian news outlet Enab Baladi reported the SAA shelled several positions in the villages of al-Tah, Khuwayn and Breiseh in the southern Idlib countryside with heavy rockets. According to experts, the rockets were launched from a BM-27 multiple rocket launcher system.

A day earlier, militants in northwestern Syria violated the de-escalation agreement and shelled a key base of the SAA in northwestern Hama. Moreover, the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) destroyed a battle tank of the SAA with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
The presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran will discuss the future of the opposition-held areas in northwestern Syria during a meeting in Tehran on September 7. Local observers believe that the results of this meeting will be vital for the fate of the militants remaining in Idlib.
