On November 15th, another wave of airstrikes hit militants’ positions in Syria’s Greater Idlib region.

Warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) targeted militant’s facilities near the village of Majalia in the Syrian Idlib governorate. According to local reports, at least three strikes were recorded in the area. Later, at least one airstrike was carried out near the village of Deir Sunbol.

Meanwhile, SAA artillery shelled positions of Turkish-backed forces in Kafr Nouran village.

Attacks on militant facilities are carried out in response to regular ceasefire violations of the ceasefire brokered last year by Russia and Turkey . Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the de-facto ruler of Greater Idlib, maintains a large presence in the area with many covert positions, headquarters and ammunition depots.

Another target of the VKS attacks are ISIS hideouts in Central Syria.

On November 15, Russian warplanes carried out successive raids in the desert area of Jabal al-Bishri in the east of Raqqa province.

This comes after ISIS fighters carried out several attacks in the pro-government forces. On November 13, at least 13 fighters of a tribal pro-government formation known as “Usud al-Sharqiyah” [the Lions of the East] were killed in an ambush set by ISIS terrorists near the town of al-Masrab in the northwestern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).  Another ISIS attack claimed lives of 4 SAA soldiers in Daraa province.

Putin is wasting time by not leading a full on offensive to retake Idlib.

oracle

They need a full air offensive first, along with ballistic missile bombardment both much bigger then what they are doing now.

Peter Wallace

They should have done that 18 mths ago when the SAA were on a roll. Now it is going to be very difficult to achieve without massive support which will pit Russian and Turkish forces against each other which then creates the possibilities of others joining in or watching from the sidelines as the blood flows.

Tommy Jensen

Putin is not the only one wasting my time.

Condolences to the fallen wahabimossad and CIAisis operators. May they rest in pieces…

Peter Wallace

I would imagine those in Idlib will have forgotten who was the first to break the ceasefire and now consider every Russian aerial bombing and SAA bombardments as Russia / SAA breaking the ceasefire so they consider they are only retaliating . A never ending circle . Looks like live testing of equipment for the upcoming bigger war.
