On February 3 and 4, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) carried out 20 airstrikes on ISIS terrorists, equipment and hideouts in the outskirts of the town of al-Resafa in the southern countryside of Syria’s Raqqa.
The airstrikes came following an attack by ISIS on an oil shipment that was heading from oil fields held by the Syrian Democratic Forces to government-held areas. Only one tanker was destroyed by the terrorists.
Activists shared a video showing a pickup truck of ISIS that was destroyed either by Russian airstrikes or government forces fire.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 70 Russian airstrikes have hit ISIS cells in Syria’s central region since the beginning of February.
Despite facing much pressure form the VKS and Syrian government forces, ISIS cells remain very active in the central region.
ISIS operations in central Syria were not affected by the US February 3 raid which supposedly saw the death of the terrorist group’s top leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi. The group is yet to confirm or deny the death of al-Qurashi.
