The Alexandrit-class minesweeper is a new minesweeper class developed for the Russian Navy. The first ship of the class – Aleksandr Obukhov – was laid down on September 22, 2011 and was launched in June 2014. The ship was commissioned on December 9, 2016. The Russian Navy planned to obtain some 11 Alexandrit-class minesweepers until 2020.
