On January 23, Rusisa’s Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a member of Ukrainian militant group in the Republic of Crimea, the FSB said in a statement.
The detainee [birth year – 1994] was a member of the so-called Numan Celebicihan Battalion, formed by Lenur Islamov from Crimean Tatar radicals mostly. The detained gunman became a member of the militant group in 2016, where he passed training and became a bodyguard of Islamov.
Local media outlets reports that FSB raids were carried out at places of residence of two members of the Numan Celebicihan Battalion. The militant group participated in a terrorist attack on the border between Crimea and the Ukrainian region of Kherson. As a result of the attack, Crimea suffered a total power blackout.
