Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has released a video showing a Special Forces unit storming a safe house of the alleged ISIS member in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
On February 1, the FSB reported that the suspected ISIS member had opened fire at the counter-terrorism unit trying to detain him and was eliminated as a result of thefirefight.
“According to the intelligence collected, the terrorist – a citizen of a neighboring state – was preparing the attack on the day of Russian presidential election,” the FSB said adding that the suspect was planning a terrorist atack during the 2018 presidential election.
The FSB seized an improvised explosive device, firearms and ammunition at the stormed location.
