K-535 Yuriy Dolgorukiy is the first Borei-class ballistic missile submarine (Project 955) in service with the Russian Navy. It joined the Russian Navy on 10 January 2013.
The Borey class is the new class of Russian ballistic missile nuclear submarine. It’s intended to replace older classes of submarines (Delta III, Delta IV and Typhoon) in service with the Russian Navy.
One thing I would appreciate, and may be SouthFront could oblige, is an analysis of the Bulava missile. I only have a sketchy understanding but the impression I have is that there are or have been some questions as to its reliability. May be these things are all in the past and the initial development problems are over.
Meh, initial development problems are over, mostly due to manufacturing issues. ignore wikipedia as its being edited by NATO fuktards and they claim every 2nd test launch is a “failure” eg for teh last few tests the 2nd missile in a 2-missile salvo is destroyed by range-control after launch and only the first missile proceeds to test range targets, yet Wiki editor tards STILL call them “failures”
Not an accurate depiction of the Borei hull form. The casing over the missile tubes is MUCH less pronounced than this graphic suggests. Also the sail doesn’t feature any fins, and its shape is totally wrong.
I concur. It’s more similar to a Delta IV. What makes Borei class instantly recognizable is the shape of the sail.
