On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured the Allush hill in the cemetery area in the central part of Deir Ezzor city, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. Furthermore, the SAA captured Jalil and Milad positions around the cemetery area.
During its advance the SAA destroyed 6 armed vehicles and a BMP-1 vehicle of ISIS with ATGMs.
Earlier, Syrian warplanes destroyed two tanks of ISIS in al-Buruk hill west of the 137th Brigade Base. Syrian airstrikes also killed a group of 8 ISIS fighters in the cemetery area.
They Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed in an official statement that the SAA recaptured al-Shula village on the al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway. According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense statement the SAA started clearing the village and the highway from IEDs and mines previously planted by ISIS.
The al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway will likely be re-opened for civilians in few days, as only few positions south of the road are still under ISIS control.
Separately, reports appeared that the SAA advanced northeast from al-Shula and reached the Maliha checkpoint located just 10km from the government-held area near the 137th Brigade Base.
The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed a BMP-1 vehicle, a tank and a gun of the SAA around al-Shula village with ATGMs.
Amaq also released a video of ISIS fighters destroying a T-55 tank of the SAA around Humaymah village in the eastern Homs countryside with an ATGM.

Personally, I think there was a tunnel that connect the divided city. There is no way (IMHO), they could have survived separate this long. The people and soldiers living in it, needed to be resupplied with food and arms.

they probably want to cut the Syrians, preventing them from reaching and liberating their oil fields and stealing them, as they did around hasakah.
It is really disappointing that the airfield and the civillian quarters there are not yet relieved. What is SAA doing? Civillians are not priority enough?
Hope for the civillians they are relieved rapidly. Or is SAA waiting for SDF to come help them?

It is really disappointing that u back the SDF! Because they seem to be taking part in a conflict in Raqqa in which thousands of civilians are being killed! Those innocent women and children! It amazes me that these innocents arnt a priority enough for the SDF to concentrate ALL of their faces on Raqqa city and not on any other ADVANCING Fronts! Whats more important??? Liberating Raqqa city as quickly as possible? OR Taking oil and Gas rich lands in DeZ? Why is the SDF wasting its man power and resources on a whole new front when it could use the many hundreds or thousands of soldiers it takes to fight isis in is most enforced region? Seems to me that the Civilians of RaQQA should be more important? Yes or no? Or if there is a good reason to advance on DeZ now, what is the reason? Oh wait I know the reason….. THEY WANNA BLOCK THE SAA AND TAKE THE GAS AND OIL!

I have the impression that this ISIS video is an old video already presented somewhere, as a propaganda, but maybe I am wrong. Any way, ISIS is lost already, and they know it. However, dady (USA-Israel-NATO may appears all of a sudden, you never know what a psyco can do.
