SAA Offensive Continues: Over 200 Shells, Rockets Hit Militant Positions In Southern Idlib

Illustrative image

On July 29, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) targeted militants’ positions in the Zawiya Mount in the southern countryside of Idlib with more than 200 artillery shells and rockets, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The UK-based monitoring group said the shelling had targeted the towns of Kansafra, Ain La Rose, al-Bara, Kafar Aweed, Almaouzrah, Baluon, Fatterah and Erinah.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allies responded by shelling SAA positions in the town of Kafr Nabl in the southern Idlib countryside. No losses were reported.

In the last few days, the SAA amassed a large offensive force on the frontlines near the Zawiya Mount. Recent reports said that the army and its allies were preparing to launch a new military operation in Greater Idlib.

Fearing a new military operation by the SAA, HTS and its allies deployed reinforcements in the Zawiya Mount and put their forces on high alerts.

A new operation by the SAA could facilitate the implementation of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed on March 5. One of the agreement’s key terms is the elimination of terrorist groups occupying Greater Idlib, mainly HTS. Ankara committed to fulfill this term. However, its forces are yet to fulfil their the obligations.

Condolences to the fallen CIAisis and wahabimossad operators. May they rest in pieces…

Luke Hemmming

Yes I agree. They wasted their time and money on that lot of dumbfuck cannon fodder. Wait!! Actually that was a good idea. Less stupid people now occupy the earth. Looks like a win for us hey? Yeeeeaaaah winning!!

<>

The IDF will engage Hezbollah, while the SAA will engage HTS. After we remove Hezbollah in Lebanon, we will deal with them on the other side of the Golan, so don’t be too happy.

Concrete Mike

Still holding on to a 45 year old grudge?

Your behaviour reminds me of a petulant child!

<>

They will pay for all the help they gave Hezbollah and Iran against us, we are just waiting for Hezbollah to make another foolish mistake like they tried 2 days ago. Then, the war is on.

Rhodium 10

Nothing will happen..IDF tanks merkava cooked like in 2006 is a clearly warn for IDF forces.

<>

Let’s see them now.

Concrete Mike

Nonsense!!!

You should pay for all the help you give Al Nusrah and ISIS then.

Its a stupid loop, break the cycle or your all doomed.

S Melanson

Agreed and breaking the cycle is spot on. I also replied to Zion

John Wallace

You are always saying ” we are just waiting … ” Waiting for what ?.. Waiting for Godot ?? waiting for Jesus too return. ?? waiting until your balls drop ?? ..Waiting for your foreskin to regrow,,, ?? . Waiting until you get a brain ?? ..In each case you will forever be waiting..

HiaNd

For brain is too late.

They don’t believe in Jesus. It is more probably about “balls drop” or “foreskin” than a “Jesus”.

cechas vodobenikov

waiting for Godot—excellent!

John Wallace

I knew it wouldn’t be wasted.. :-))

S Melanson

Iron Zion, yes, Syria is collaborating with Hezbollah and Iran, but the purpose is not to act against Israel, it is to preserve Syrian sovereignty and restore territorial integrity – note Assad excluded occupied Golan in his campaign to liberate territory lost to terrorists.

I add that Assad and allies had to fight terrorists that were being abetted by Israel, which was roundly criticized by Haaretz – Feb 3, 2019, Daniel Levy:

“For the first time on the record, a senior official confirmed Israel’s secret unconventional war in Syria, aimed at preventing Iranian encroachment. But what did Israel gain from exposing its ‘anti-intervention’ lie after so many years of denial?”

Israel’s decision to involve itself in a proxy regime change project making use of terrorists has consequences, most of them not good for Israel.

Assad would not have invited Iran or Hezbollah to militarily intervene if there had been no attempt to topple him and it came very close to succeeding – Assad had no choice, else his government would have collapsed.

Note that up until 2011, Syria had honoured for over 30 years the cease fire along the border of Syria and the occupied Golan and never were Iranian or Hezbollah troops or proxies placed on Or near the contact line.

Iran now has a land route through Iraq to Syria and through Syria to Lebanon. This is because of external events, not by Iran’s own agency.

US invasion of Iraq and regime change project in Syria did not go as planned and so now you have to deal with it. This is one reason I am critical of Netanyahu, the Syrian fiasco has been under his watch and his alone.

<>

True Melanson, but what do you suggest doing now? sit still and wait for them to act? I mean, that Hezbollah guy we killed in Syria was there in the first place in order to act against Israel, that’s why he died at the bombings. That’s all part of the plan of Iran, but as we have shown since the start of the civil war, we won’t let them open up another front from Syria. So if you ask me? we will fight on two fronts when the war starts.

S Melanson

Good reply . What to do is not an easy answer as Israel and adversaries have over time dug in pretty deep, but it is not insurmountable.

What I suggest is to note down all (or most important) perceived hostile actions/threats with dates by Israels adversaries since 2000. Then juxtapose that with Israeli actions/rhetoric preceding and after each hostile episode. Does it look like an endless cycle of tit for tat? How might the cycle be broken?

What will help is walking in your opponents shoes to see their perspective, irregardless of whether it is reasonable or not.

Below I provide a few observations.

As for Hezbollah casualty, consider the point of view of Hezbollah. Hezbollah is an ally of Iran with very close ties and Israel is conducting air strikes targeting Iranian assets in Syria. Iran has been invited by Assad so Iranian presence legal. However, Israeli policy is to prevent Iran and Hezbollah to establish military presence near contact line in Syria. Israeli doctrine places sovereignty to enact security policy supersedes considerations of international law.

Result: We have two sides viewing their actions as justified while accusing the other side of ignoring their legitimate security concerns. So you and them are talking past each other, on course to an eventual major conflict. I also point out that solution is unlikely if diplomacy is simultaneous with military action – to agree to Israeli demands under such conditions is wishful thinking. Military action should be contingent on outcome of diplomacy.

goingbrokes

But you lost in Syria. (You lost to Hezbollah in 2006 too.) You want another round? Good luck with that, your country is terminally divided at the moment with anti-Bibi-government demonstrators being violently attacked in many locations. Bibi may think that a war would unify the people, but if he does he’s going to endanger large number of lives and territory for a fake sense of unity. It’s poor leadership to be forced into war for such a reason.

<>

That’s why he must go, we need a true patriotic leader to lead the coming war.

goingbrokes

If you were being attacked I’d agree but a true patriot never leads his country or people into a war of aggression. And that has always been israel’s problem, you equate aggression with defence, and this has led you to endless cycles of irrational foreign policy. Seek peace and your troubles go away.

<>

Peace with whom? Hezbollah? the mullahs? Hamas?

goingbrokes

I’ll let you work out the answer for that one…

HiaNd

Can you comprehend how many non-Muslims doesn’t like Israel? People hate you for being bigoted arseholes all the time. You have brought only wars to surrounding countries , death and apartheid oppression to local Palestinian population on their own land and you complain that you are being hated?!? Your time is out !

Jim Allen

???? Top off your Kool-Aid sir ?

HiaNd

You have no Russian permission to invade Syria. If you cross the red line they will give such weapons to your enemies that you will regret it.

<>

No they won’t, because if they do we will arm Ukraine to their teeth with the lastest Israeli technology. So don’t threaten us.

HiaNd

You are no match for Russia in any shape or form. And interfering with Russian key interests anywhere in the would will be the last thing that you did and regret immediately. Your tiny country can be destroyed very quickly and there are tens of millions of Muslims ready to do it.

They only need good weapons for that objective. And Russia has those weapons.

<>

And don’t forget what we have, clown.

HiaNd

You have patch of land surrounded with ocean of Muslims. With high precision Iskanders every military facility in Israel can be destroyed quickly and easily. Military airports and sea ports included. Your air defenses are mediocre, good enough only for primitive Palestinian rockets and nothing better than that.

cechas vodobenikov

marshmallow Zion is farcical—already USA/canada arm Ukraine yet they can neither challenge Russians in donbas or Crimea

HiaNd

I know and it isn’t that they didn’t try hard to challenge Russia.

Many Jews pretend that Israel is some kind of great power, probably because of their very big influence on US. But since now their mighty protector is about to collapse they need to re adjust their arrogant attitude.

cechas vodobenikov

inferior tech—u can arm incompetent ukraine nazis as much as u like and nothing will occur..your insecurity is farcical—-hizbollah humiliated u;; u were required to retreat from Lebanon…..your incompetent iron dome cannot even intercept primitive katusha rockets launched from Gaza….u r an amusing troll here

<>

bla bla bla..

John Wallace

bla bla bla Black sheep have you any wool. No sir , Pussy_Zion stole it all

God

you are such a great warrior man, I’m so scared of you

<>

You don’t need to be scared of me, you just need to die.

God

I will change my nick when you change yours, I guess using the name of a mythological creature like God isn’t as bad as supporting a criminal government like the Israelite

<>

What you call a criminal state, I call my pride and honour. You can hate us as much as you want, it’s not like we care about it. But when our enemies try to hurt us, then they feel our true power when we come for them.

John

It looks like it is going the same way it went last time. The get the head choppers to move around a bit, get them into the open and then comes the pain.

Fantax

With USA totally focused on China and the imminent presidential elections it would be a good timing for the SAA to start an offensive. Will president Putin be smart enough to take the moment? We’ll see

HiaNd

Russia is about seeking peaceful solution and respecting international law everywhere they are. If Russia doesn’t escalate war in Donbass to protect and save lives of their own population from permanent Ukrainian provocations, than they are not going to do that in Syria either. Every time when Russia has restarted bombings in Syria was on open aggression from terrorists. Yet Russia is always depicted as an aggressor by the West.

Also they are not junior partner to Assad or Iran or Hezbollah, they do not act under their command or according to their plans.

Assad must stay

truly great SAA keep pounding the rats into oblivi00000n

cechas vodobenikov

rarely observed—people that fight to protect their national sovereignty persist against superior forces…it is natural to request assistance from civilized peoples when US/turkey/israeli bullies invade—these cowards only attack weaker peoples after they have attempted to sow starvation and economic chaos w sanctions, tariffs and by funding uncivilized proxies—al Qaeda, HTS/ISIS

χρηστος

im very curious to see the reaction of Turkey. allow me to remind you the various drone footage of attacks on SAA. Turkey pounded SAA hard, even if the videos were fake or the numbers multiplied for propaganda reasons. the fact remains. they hit directly the SyAA inside Syrian territory.
