The Saker: A Commentary On The Expulsion Of Russia From The Olympics

Written by The Saker; Originally appeared at his blog

So finally, the suspense is over and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) from 2018 Olympics, ruling that “clean” Russian athletes can only compete under a neutral flag in South Korea in February.  Since I am going to be asked about this I might as well give you my reaction to this latest development.

First, I really don’t care about sports or the Olympics.  Let me rephrase that: I like sports, but not the mega-business around watching sports.  Second, I don’t really see why athletes should represent countries, that kind of cheapo feel-like-a-victor pseudo-patriotism is not my cup of tea.  Third, I am not naive to the point of thinking the all-prevailing corruption in Russia would not affect any Russian athlete and that it is unthinkable that any of them might have used banned substances.  However, it is also equally obvious to me that

  1. The IOC is a tool in the hands of the AngloZionist Empire which uses it to humiliate Russia
  2. That there is no evidence whatsoever that doping in Russia is any worse than in any other country or that the ROC or the authorities somehow organized and managed the doping of Russian athletes.
  3. By not singling out any convicted athlete but by slamming a collective punishment on all Russian athletes the IOC and its bosses are really trying to stigmatize Russia as a whole and everything Russian

Next, I think that the Kremlin’s reaction only makes things worse: Peskov has just announced that Putin personally has decided not to boycott the Olympics.   That is an extremely unwise decision not only because it makes Russia look guilty and weak, but because it now places the burden of responsibility on deciding whether to be an active participant in the humiliation of Russia upon every individual Russian athlete.  Very bad call!  I am afraid that most of them will go for all sorts of more or less understandable reasons which they will eventually regret.  After all, athletes are trained in their sports and not to access the political implications of their actions.

I am sure that many will disagree with me, but I believe that a total boycott by Russian of the next Olympics is the least bad solution.  I would even recommend that the Kremlin organize a competition in Moscow not to try to match the immense commercial, social and political magnitude of the official Olympics in Seoul, but just to let the Russian athletes not only show their best, but to show the bastards at the IOC that they don’t “own” sports.

None of that will happen, I know.

In the meantime, here is a quick look at the main sponsors of the IOC:

The Saker: A Commentary On The Expulsion Of Russia From The Olympics

and, just to complete the picture, here the list of the folks who currently compose the IOC:

Mr Thomas BACH, Germany
Mr Zaiqing YU, China
Mr Juan Antonio SAMARANCH, Spain
Prof. Ugur ERDENER. Turkey
Ms Anita L. DEFRANTZ, USA
Mrs Gunilla LINDBERG, Sweden
Mr Gian-Franco KASPER, Switzerland
Mrs Angela RUGGIERO,USA
Mr Sergey BUBKA, Ukraine
Mr Ser Miang NG, Singapore
Mr Willi KALTSCHMITT LUJÁN, Guatemala
Dr Robin E. MITCHELL, Fiji
Mrs Nicole HOEVERTSZ, Aruba
Mr Denis OSWALD, Switzerland

Except for one lonely Chinese (does anybody know how he voted?) – the rest are all representatives of the Empire or of its colonies.  QED.

That’s all I have to say.  I am disgusted beyond words, mostly by the deafening silence from a world where Russia truly has very few friends.  That’s okay – we are used to that.  But it still is disgusting.

The SAKER says it as it really is; Bravo! Shame on Putin for not boycotting this Olympic charade following this conspiratorial decision by the Zionist International Bankster – Corporatist Cabal . The entire “Olympic Circus” is so politicised as to be virtually meaningless in any case. Besides, the results are meaningless because the rich countries have the funding and resources to offer the best training for their athletes and invariably win most of the medals. Hence, the playing field is very far from level. QED

Wolfgang Wolf

you too dont understand how RUS is ticking…. if they would boycott the olympics, they would seem guilty. now RUS plays the other card: “we will fuck you at the olympics, no matter if we use our flag or not”

Nigel Maund

I have to admit that this could be a possible Russian strategy. Let’s see how it plays out.

Rex drabble

I kind of agree with you and that would be great to see but Russia isnt that petty. No offence intended Wolfgang

Richard Noel Hedditch

No. Simply boycott the Olympics. None of this, ” Yah. We want our share of Olympic medals ” – because that is what Nazis did in 1936 and they got shat on.

Tudor Miron

missed who I wanted to reply, sorry.

Tudor Miron

First of all “Putin personally has decided not to boycott the Olympics.” I have not seen such a thing yet… Where Saker found it? Is he “running in front of the train” here? Wise thing will be to wait and see what really happens.

Rob

How many medals has Yidrael won in any Olympics? Time for another Munich kill

GRAHL

Ah. Bad news like this makes you want to murder innocent people. Typical.

Wolfgang Wolf

another typical saker reaction – he still doesent want to understand the russian mentality: all the pressure coming from the axxhole western community, trying to humiliate RUS as a state, will backfire – and plays in the hands of Mr. Putin… the west has just proven that its only goal is to humiliate Russia… and with this, the russian people are very sensitive – and stand united behind a strong leader, who defends the motherland against the western traitors!

If there is going to be any Olympic games in Seoul in February 2018, then the US cannot start a war against North Korea before, because after the war Seoul wil not exist any-more.

Any way, I think that too much importance is given to the sport. The focus on sport is at the detriment of the focus on God. I don’t see a difference between horses races and men and women races. Sport is the today circus game of the Roman Empire.

In addition the Olympic games are a tool of the Globalism driven by the Anglo-zionist empire which is willing to bring back people at the animal level.

At the difference, people playing or listening European classical music from the Middle-age to the beginning of the 19th century ,are participating in an humanism drive. The people are coming from any European country, from both, north and South america, Asia ( Japan, China, Korea, Australia) and of course Israel,, But all participating in this movement are developping both their heart and their head and not only muscle like in sport

χρηστος

The Olympic games are not supposed to be anything like that……

Jean de Peyrelongue

Sport at the level of the Olympic games is the result of the excellence of the doctors in medecine. Without adjuvant therapy, athletes are like soldiers without drugs.

χρηστος

no room for politics in the Olympic games…..this is pure and simple rape of all the things the Olympics stand for.

Richard Noel Hedditch

No room for politics in the Olympics ? Then why does International Jewry have national flags in its Jew Olympics ?

GRAHL

Some might say that wide spread doping of athletes is rape of all the things the Olympics stand for.

Richard Noel Hedditch

That Russia is being effectively kicked out of the Jew Olympics is a credit to Russia. The best thing which Russia ever did with the Jew Olympics is boycott Los Angeles 1984 as part of the Soviet Union, and then perform as the ” Unified Team ” in Barcelona, 1992 and top the medal count as a non-national flag participant, thereby seriously damaging Judaic Internationalism by the removal of national ensigns from the Olympic Jew festival.

Rex drabble

Russia should start their own games. Many countries would flock to them simply because Russia is fair and honest to deal with.Fuck the olympics.

Richard Noel Hedditch

Fair idea. But maybe Russia is not the sports powerhouse it was in Soviet times – it and the Soviet bloc. There was the ‘ worker’s ‘ sports event as an alternative to the IOC in the 1930s, but of course the Nazis and Fascists were for the Western Establishment, and for expediance, of course, vice versa. From 1952 the Soviet Bloc committed to the Judaic Internationalism of the IOC. Which is why I supported the boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics. I shall always believe that was correct. The IOC says no politics, but they field political ensigns and anthems. And the hypocrisy of humanity in general. None, totally none, of my Olympics considerations, scores a solitary ‘ like ‘. But I’ll tell you – what goes around comes around.

Rex drabble

Most of what you goes over my head.Im not saying you are fight or wrong,I dont get in to the history of these things in general.Leads to many arguements. It doesnt matter if Russia is still a power house or not. Russia doesnt need to win anything. It would be the logical thing to do.I f youre being told fuck off, then go and do your own thing.

Richard Noel Hedditch

Russia should withdraw totally from the IOC.

Rex drabble

Yes and give the world an alternative to the polluted Olympics.

Drinas

The Kremlin’s “Let’s play nice. Why can’t we be friends?” strategy vs the West has failed miserably. If anyone wishes to label this opinion as “5th column” or subverting Putin or whatever I care little. The main problem is yet again Russian elites and their mentality. As for the Saker’s remark about Russia having very few friends, he is far from the truth. Simple folks all around the world look to it as a beacon of righteousness but it’s also time for Russia to embrace that role and move forward to confront its enemies.

Richard Noel Hedditch

” Let’s play nice. We can be friends. “. That is what the Syrian Arab Republic tried, and still wishes to try. Instead of Syria boycotting the Los Angeles Olympics [ 1984 ], Atlanta [ 1996 ], and London [ 2012 ], they attended all these, when it was the first things they should have boycotted.

Richard Noel Hedditch

If the International Olympic Committee can be broken that that would be a serious reversal for Freemasonry and the International Stock Exchange. Russia is definately on the correct path.

Dr. Ronald Cutburth

For one time only I disagree with the SAKER in pointing the finger at Putin. Spacitically he claims Putin insults Russia by attending the games anyway. The bottom line is the SAKER insults Putin in not attempting to understand why Putin will attend. Putin always looks at the bigger picture and is always correct. An example is his new connection with the President of Turkey after somebody in Turkey shot down one of the Russian planes. Putin’s look to the bigger picture gained an pact with Iran, Turkey, and Russia. In addition, Putin attending the games will bring his security team and have a great intelligence feast.

Rex drabble

Putin is a shit load smarter than the Saker. So many commentators Think they have it sussed but they are almost always wrong.I put my faith in Mr Putin because he always puts his words into action and very effectively too.The west is very scared of him and with good reason because he will be their down fall.

Rex drabble

This doesnt hurt Russia.I may annoy them but they are not surprised, they expect this type of action by the clowns in the west. This is happening because Russia is kicking their arses all over the place and nothing these fools come up with will change that. The US is being made a mockery of by NK and other counties are following Both Russia and China in showing them the finger. We are about to see a new world order, one that includes EVERY one equally, and the shit heads in the US cant do a thing about it.I think its great!

Solomon Krupacek

nobody want hurt russia. simply russian authorities shall stop the organized doping. stop the falsification of results.

Rex drabble

Go away fool

Solomon Krupacek

you should be more polite to the author of article.

Rex drabble

WHY? he is wrong.

Barba_Papa

The Russians only have themselves to blame for having been this blatantly obvious in their doping practices. It’s Murphy’s law basically, you can get away with a lot of stupid behavior, until you get caught. And the more stupid your behavior, the bigger the chance will be that you get caught, and the bigger your humiliation will be. Now the IOC basically had to do something. They couldn’t let doping practices of this scale slide. Of course other countries calling for the boycot had egg on their face, because their athletes use doping too. But they are doing it more subtle, and most important, they haven’t been caught (yet).

It all boils down to the Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt not get caught!

Will it be bad for Putin? Probably not, he can spin it into ‘see what the Evil West is doing against us again!’ And by letting individual Russian athletes compete Russia will still have a chance to score some new medals and sporting heroes. Also a self imposed boycott would accomplish nothing for Russia. Like with previous boycotts the Games always go on and the only real victims would be the Russian athletes, who have spent years of hard work and training to prepare themselves and who are then robbed of their opportunity to compete.

Gary Wells

You’ve spent a good deal of time writing nonsense.

Barba_Papa

It’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it. Nonsense ain’t writing itself!

Joe Dirt

“blatantly obvious in their doping practices.” How so? Not a shred of evidence exists…

hvaiallverden

Russian mentality, yeah, wtf is that, do enlighten us.

I for once agrees with Saker, Putin is one spineless person, an pathetic creep whom in His “brilliance” have managed to f….. Russia completely, with an pathetic compliance to the whims of the west, what is it, cash, Russians is in that sense “normal”, sell their own granny’s for an piece of scrap dry bread, that Russia, yeah I know about that one to.

I have lost everything, not only did Trump became an corrupt whore, but Putin is even worse, no spine what so ever, and to then go to Seoul is to make the humiliation complete, yeah, way to go Russia.

I told you what to do, nothing happened. Kick out the largest UssA and Canadian corp in Russia out, give em 24h to f… off. And confiscate everything. Then the next day, take the second largest UssA corp and throw them out. The third day, continue with the next large one, and confiscate everything. I bet that within a week this issue would be berried into the shit bin of history, but your eminent savior did nothing, the Duma is more like an retirement home for rats, alcoholics and criminals, witch is more occupied what the west thinks, that taking care of Russia.

I have nothing left other than contempt, week corrupt leaders, is Russians nemesis.

PS. I never watch this freak shows, not winter games either, since 94 when Norway won everything, I know one nation whom is doing systematic doping, apart from UssA, and thats Norway, thru Asma medication, yeah, why do you think the Norse is sooooo much better than Swedes and Finns, because we are born with skis, huh, no, its because of decades of systematic doping thru the use of medication, there are doctors along the Norse state sponsored doping program, whom is there to back the Asma claim, and their excuses, yeah, winter, huh, and again, the pathetic Russians looks more like an bunch of people whom likes to be beaten, masochistic, self mutilation in an grand scale. And now Norway’s ski queen is taken with steroids, yeah, suddenly even trace amounts where sooooooo little it cant do anything, of course, it always much worse if anyone else does Steroid, but when an Norse does it, its an honest mistake. Hallelujah.

This is pay back for letting this spineless creep Putin rule your land, He takes orders from the Tribe, thats why nothing happens. You get hat you deserve, for been cowards. I have no sympathy what so ever.

The banning of Russian representation is part of a developing Western bloc Cold War (involving various mechanisms [economic warfare, proxy warfare, destabilisation/ partition/ regime change operations, etc.] albeit so far short of a direct kinetic stage) being waged against Russia (to isolate, economically harm and humiliate Russia). But a possible Russian boycott may be in the interests of the Russian Federation and its athletes.

In addition to avoiding humiliation (the intention of forcing Russian athletes to compete without representing the Russian Federation), there is an increasing probability of a kinetic stage of conflict occurring on the Korean Peninsula with indications that March 2018 may be a particularly volatile period (various sources, including several analysts from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute and the Lowy Institute have mentioned March 2018 as a deadline identified jointly with their allies from which military action is more likely to be initiated. For example:

“John Bolton, the former US ambassador to the UN and a notable hawk from the George W Bush era, visited London and the House of Commons. His mission, whether official or not: to relay that CIA chiefs have told Donald Trump that he has a “three-month window” in which to act to halt the North’s ICBM programme……. This apparent March deadline, for what can only be considered a pre-emptive strike, was also mentioned to a former European parliamentarian by a senior US commander a few days ago at Panmunjom on Korea’s demilitarised zone” (Have we got just three months to avert a US attack on North Korea? Mark Seddon, Guardian, 5 December 2017)

Operational plans for a concurrent military conflict against China have been developed (of which Australia is integrated into such contingency plans). As the security of China is linked to the security of the DPRK (the Pentagon intends to establish a permanent military presence [military/missile architecture] within the DPRK subsequent to any regime change or military conflict as it has done in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc.), any war against the DPRK will likely necessitate the intervention of China.

The banning of Russian representation from the Olympics is an aspect of broader forms of non-kinetic warfare being waged against Russia (ongoing isolation and humiliation efforts). As this confrontation against the Russian Federation is gradually progressing to more advanced stages (evident through the increasing military build-up and encirclement with U.S.-NATO-allied military forces/missile architecture, expanding Western bloc proxy warfare operations in Syria and against ethnic Russians in E Ukraine, etc.), the logical outcome of such Western bloc policies of escalation should be self evident.

Fortunately the Russian Federation is capable of adjusting its strategic policies accordingly.

Veritas Vincit

p2. It is also worth observing Australian media in conjunction with Australian and foreign intelligence operations are also targeting the Russian hosting of the 2018 FIFA world cup:

“Like the rest of Russian sport, the nation’s football team stands condemned as cheats. International pressure is building to outlaw them, ban them from international competition. The Olympics has acted, what will football do?….. Will the Russian team be banned from the World Cup in its own country? (Russia is a nation of drug cheats. We know that. (IOC ban on Russia raises questions for 2018 FIFA World Cup, By Tracey Holmes, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, 06/12/2017)

Accusations of drug cheating and state sponsored programs absent of conclusive evidence or conviction (with a collective punishment format of people not proven guilty) is clearly politically motivated and is an aspect of the broader developing Cold War being waged. Australia is a key advocate of sanctions (economic warfare) and is covertly involved in allied operations against ethnic Russian in E Ukraine. Australia considers Russia an enemy to be subject to allied isolation, economic warfare and destabilisation efforts. It is reasonable for the Russian Federation to quietly respond accordingly.

Richard Noel Hedditch

What Russia could do ? Pull Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuala, and whomever else is sick of the West’s crap, out of the Olympics.

Veritas Vincit

The Saker is correct. A Russian boycott (instead of allowing independent participation to the humiliation of the Russian Federation) is the obvious response.

As Western bloc operations seek to further isolate, economically harm and humiliate the Russian Federation, commercial and strategic orientation towards non-adversarial nations is logical.

As the many globally expanding low intensity conflicts logically progress to more advanced stages (as is occurring, recognising the powder keg that is the ME, U.S.-allied preparations for offensive operations against the DPRK [and subsequently China], U.S.-NATO-allied military exercises simulating offensive operations against Crimea [the Russian Federation], expanding U.S. military operations within Syria, etc. ), the Russian Federation is preparing its responses, even to a worst case scenario.

Richard Noel Hedditch

A sixth of the Earth’s surface [ Russia ] totally divorced from global Capitalism. That is what I am savoring. We had the sickening stage-managed, patronising, ” glasnost ” , with golf, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Hollywood, etc coming to Russia – but that sort of fell through.

Solomon Krupacek

no boy, this had to happen decades ago. i rember in peking the wonderful reaults of chinese sportsmen. totally doping, never repeatable. DDR, USSR/Russia, PCR the triumvirate, where state support has this immoral, ugly method.

Tudor Miron

Wait a minute… May I ask for a link where it is said that ” Putin personally has decided not to boycott the Olympics.” I have not seen such a thing.

Solomon Krupacek

Indeed “Russia truly has very few friends”. But why? Because from the years of Gorbachev until this day, Russian foreign policy has been concentrated on relations with the West, neglecting and sometimes outright betraying truly and historically friendly nations like Serbs. The policy was one of appeasement and retreat (Cuba, Kosovo, Vietnam, Ukraine…) at any cost in a hope that the Russian leaders, not necessarily the country itself, will be accepted as equals in the Western club. It appears that Mr. Putin, Lavrov, Medvedev are still not getting it. On the other hand, other countries don’t see Russian policies as reliable and long lasting but something that can change overnight on the whim of one man (Libya, S-300 to Iran..). If we add to the mix an abhorring unattractiveness of the corrupt oligarchical economical model by which a robbery of historical proportions has been legitimised, and the lack of any sort of soft power on the part of Russia, the chances of getting many true allies any time soon look rather slim. The current handful of countries positioning themselves around Russia can not be called an alliance for the reasons of such diversity among them when it comes to their interests and aspirations, the culture, history etc. It looks like the whole spectra of issues in relations with the West is rapidly converging into a point of no return. And whatever consequences ensue for the Russian people, they should blame only their weak and very ideological (liberal) leadership, not the West.

Solomon Krupacek

Indeed “Russia truly has very few friends”. But why?

you are right. but for true words you will be hated here.

Rex drabble

Hate is a very strong word.Facts prove that you are wrong.I see many countries going to Russia to talk. This is because they see that Russia is firstly destroying ISIS,second,,shown the world that the US never intended to do the same but in fact funds and arms ISIS.That Russia will and does stand up to US bullying on behalf of the REAL freedom loving countries of our world. When I hear some one talk of hate,I have learnt that it is because they themselves possess that very emotion itself. It is destructive and very telling.

Solomon Krupacek

i am desribing the reactions of hater to my same sentence. ;) i laugh on them. :))

Tudor Miron

OK, Putin just officially declared that he will run for presidency in March 2018. He also said that Russia would not forbid its athlets to compete as individuals if they so choose to. But as individuals and not part of national team. If some look at my earlier posts that is what I thought should be done. My own opinion is that those who agree to participate – they can do it as individuals but to me they are traitors of their Motherland – those people place their own good before their Rodina, those are deemed to be slaves (be it their personal comfort or foreign invaders). But this is free country and they are free to choose but no support (including financial) from the state that grew them up and they decide to abandon it and compete for themselves. For those athletes who decide to stand for their country and refuse to go under neutral flag – Russia should organize some alternative competition and reward them very kindly if a world record is set or very good result (it really depends on particular sport) is shown.

Solomon Krupacek

My own opinion is that those who agree to participate – they can do it as individuals but to me they are traitors of their Motherland –

typical commie.

minor animal, these spartsmens, invested own money in their future. they are free people, and such moron enslavers like you have no right to tell them, what to do. no right to sentence them.

you so much hate western countries. i ha a simple question: why are you working with western cars, western desing??? you have after all grand russian types like moskwich, volga, …

you are so false guy.

Tudor Miron

As I said – they can compete as individuals if they care about their investments more than about their Motherland. Putin said that there would not be any restrictions for individuals to compete as individuals. Shlomo, I don’t hate western countries that’s another one of your fantasies. I disapprove anglo-zionist order that is slowly enslaving this beautiful planet since ancient Egypt. Ordinary people in US are just like the rest of us. All over this planet ordinary people differ from each other only by their belief system and even that has to be constantly reinforced by MSM and what some call education system. Without being constantly bombarded by hostile information ordinary people very rapidly realize that in order for one to feel good everyone around should also feel good. This planet is relatively big and robust. What is fragile is life on this planet and humanity is even more so. 1st priority of means to governing is Methodology/Ideology. Some nations adopt anti human ideology but even those don’t work for themselves but rather for a select group and often die for foreign interests thinking they were fighting for own interests. You’re one of those and hate is your realm :) Shlomo, I design and build race cars within obvious constrains: whatever base my customer is providing, or it can be technical regulations, available budget etc. Easiest is to build from zero state – less constrains/less problems.
