Sattelite Images Reportedly Reveal Location Of Syria's S-300 System

On October 24, Israel’s ImageSat International (iSi) released a group of sattelite images, which allegedly revealed the first location of Syria’s S-300 air defense system.

According to the released images, the deployment site is located near the village of Masyaf in the province of Hama. The report claims that the deployment site is not operational yet, but four S-300 launchers are already there.

“Elements suspected as S-300 launchers arrived at Hmeimim airfield during the last days of September 2018. Based on iSi imagery, the elements were temporarily deployed at the airfield, until the end of the construction of its storage area and permanent deployment site near Masyaf. The elements were probably transferred to their current location on the third week of October 2018,” the report says.

Russia supplied the Syrian Air Defense Forces with S-300 air defense forces in late September after the Russian IL-20 military plane was shot down during the Israeli strike on Syria. The plane was shot down by Syrian air defense fire, but the incident was caused by irresponsible and hostile actions of the Israeli Air Force, according to Moscow.

The decision to supply S-300 systems to the Syrian government became a key factor influencing the regional security. Israel, which has for a long time used its domination in airspace to pound targets in the war-torn country, is now facing a previously unexpected threat from the Syrian Air Defense Forces.

yea its just that now they can just relocate them to new possitions xD this is not a S-200. Its actually very mobile.

PZIVJ

Fill it with balloon decoys after you move the real ones. :DD

Spit

Yes, You feel it to. The exact Location of Disposable weapons is not as important as to the fact that Israeli F-35’s have had… Questionable accidents. The only thing that is important in all of this is Russia’s Ability to intercept Ballistic projectiles located in Israel and aimed at Moscow’s 9 rings. If I was in Charge of US Neuclear arsenal, I would place intermediate rabge Balistic Missiles in israel to give myself an unfair advantage. Russia Has placed S-300-400 Weapons in between Moscow and Israel. Turkey, Syria etc. The Deployment of S-300 in Syria is just a cover, the Weapons Russia has Deployed are Strategic and most likelly of the best.

Fill it with Balloon air… Yes…

Nope

Time to put some Russian nukes in Cuba and Venezuela.

Sinbad2

My thoughts exactly, you don’t build shoot and scoot systems to leave them in one place.

Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him(Sun Tzu)

Metal decoys would be just as cheap and more realistic. 45galllon drums welded end to end. Like the fighter-jet ‘protection hangars’ being built at the Russian airbase, these valuable assets should be covered and protected. Extra ‘decoy’ shelters in nearby hilltops would also help in creating confusion.

Bob

Inflatables can be pretty convincing from satellite or high altitude imaging – they also have simple internal electric units to mimic thermal signatures from engine bays etc.

Knowing people involved in sat. imaging, I can say they are able to ‘see’ the composition of materials that they ‘look at’. Those balloons might fool troops on the ground, but not the sat. However those electric units able to mimic thermal signatures from engine bays etc would be a big plus add-on.

v76

lol, has anyone seen the life size blowup S300/400 decoys!? Russia made thousands of them but more importantly is the real systems are mobile….. f’k me the zio rats are as dumb as dog sh|t.

Carol Davidek-Waller

There are more than one system and they are easily mpved.

Shahna

Israel finished checking those F-35 fuel lines yet?

Dicksonrp

Boom….??

TiredOfBsToo

What you waiting for Israel….. come and get ’em…… I mean come and get it! I really would like to see how the F35 Turkey responds when introduced to an upgraded S300 missile.

R Trojson

They are more likely to shoot down a Russian plane than an Israeli plane. History is on my side.

v76

Links fcuktard or you’re full of sh|t.

The only Russian craft the S300/400s have shot down were targets…. poor af troll attempt.

Sinbad2

These could be for S200 batteries? There are mountains/hills just to the west of Masyaf, that would make it difficult for Israel to target them with glide bombs. The Syrians didn’t really position their AA batteries very well, maybe they are wising up.

Ray Douglas

Shoot down the satellite.

gustavo

It is easy to do that from the military point of view, but it is very complicated from the political point of view.

H Eccles

Well this is good news.. I’m now reassured that the Syrians definitely have the S300..

thanks zios… ha!

John Whitehot

“Israel, which has for a long time used its domination in airspace to pound targets”

so dominating that they have hardly left Lebanese or international airspace

S Melanson

This is the practical difference in Israeli military doctrine in Syria due to the discovery of the S-300 System of the decoy variant.

Before discovery Netanyahoo: we will locate and destroy your precious S-300s as soon as our F-35s are flightworthy, and it is only a matter of decad… I mean days.

Years later the sunny skies of Syria remain clear and blue with no hostile planes in sight, but fears linger that one day the F-35 will come and bring trouble you trying to bomb sites now empty that long ago stationed fearsome decoy S-300s. But most Syrian people fear not because they know if it returns, the birds chirping away in the trees will once again fly into action to clear the Syrian skies, sweeping away all before their ferocious beaks.

This is going to be needed before idlib. So naturally, attempts will be taken just before such an operation

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

It looks like Israel is collecting intel and then wait for the right momment to strike, if not all the sites, then a lot of them.

And they only need to hit the radars, not the missiles or launchers themselves. Radars have always been the achilles heel of a SAM system.

And i dont think that the F-35 will be the main player in this, the regular IAF will take the brunt of it. But of course they will use the F-35, if it ever gets airworthy in this war, and just one or two hits from that will be blown up to “F-35 defeated the entire SyAD single handlely” in the MSM and on IAF twitter account.

Or Israel is just going to use missiles/drones/cruisemissile from a distance away, circle a few planes near the targets the seconds the missiles/drones/cruisemissiles hit and then make it look like the planes hit the targets.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

I hope the US/Israeli invader butt gets kicked in well and good. A good old spanking and thrashing of the exceptional US/Israeli butt will be very healthy for world peace and security.

Harsha

some Harop drones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V9mbC-Esmg

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

Kamikaze drones? And its not even japanese

Harsha

maybe Israel use these drones against Syrian S-300s like once they attacked Pantsir S-1 in Syria.

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

It is a possibility for sure

R Trojson

Israelis are just playing with them. They did not take out S200s but instead shot down a Russian plane with the S200. I bet they will end up shooting down a Russian plane with the S300 then the S400, S500, … Perfect cover and ultimate disgrace for Russia. Win Win

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

You can bet that Russia and Syria learned a thing or two from that incident, so did Israel.

Israel will do anything to repeat that and Russia and Syria will do anything to avoid it, who will win? I do not know.

R Trojson

Have to believe competent techs, Russians, will be manning S300s for the foreseeable future.

v76

isisrael took out plenty of S200’s wtf are you talking about, can just pick and choose snippets of info and compile it to make up a story you like then flog it as actual happening…. I live in the west so I know how dumb many westerners are like you.

v76

How is a plane with missiles that have far less range than the AA systems they are going to destroy going to do that Brian? Stealth is a lie or at best a massive over exaggeration, Russian AA can see them so its all about speed of acquisition and missile range.

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

The terrain in western Syria and Golans favors a tactical airstrike, so much terrain to hide behind and therefore it can get close, and if lucky, within striking distance.

I hate the F-35 as plauge infested rats, and i have read about “stealth” for more that 20 years, so i know that the F-35 is a glorified junk and stealth in no way means invisible, the technical term for stealth is Low observable, and yes, Russia have always been the master af air defence, Israel knows this, and are trying hard to find weak spots in the Syrian AD.

Info they can sell on to NATO and the US, plus every other nation that is up against russian made equipment.

So i think that we agree and share oppinions, right?

Rob

Now Syria and Russia should have to target the as**s of Benjanyahu and Trump etc by these S-300 and S-400 when they show to Syria.

Bob

In mid sixties Soviets provided North Vietnam with S-75 SAMs – Soviet doctrine had distinct layout for organizing system in hexagon like shape. As North Vietnamese using the S-75 systems in direct combat with US aircraft they soon learnt that the hexagon shape was quite distinct and identifiable from high altitude for intruding US observation aircraft. So North Vietnamese changed their ground layout to be far less identifiable – but likewise continued to make use of fake hexagon layouts as decoys and to interrupt flight paths of incoming US aircraft that sought to avoid SAM sites.

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

Nice info, thanks.

R Trojson

How long until the S300s shoot down another Russian plane?

v76

moronic dribble blocked… see ya fcuktard.

Jews fk every little friend they got, and then complain the world is anti-Semite. What passes for brains in Israel?

Fitzhenrymac

Amazing how fast the vegetation grew back on those revetments.

And what’s the point of hiding them when the first time they are used, their position will be given away. I hope they are mobile.

Kelli Hernandez

Um, where do these images come from? Israhell must be at it again. All big huff & puff and no action. Today they are taking it out on Gaza. Many bombings over the last few days, including a hospital. They love killing & starving millions, yst when faced with a true enemy that is Russia, they reduce themselves to more threats, hubris and satellite images. Bottom line: they will not take any chances.
