Since the end of the “Cold War” in 1991, people everywhere have enjoyed spending their “Peace Dividend”.
NEW MAP SHOWS THE SIZE OF U.S. MILITARY SPENDING
Tyler Koteskey uses a map prepared by Bank of America to show that U.S. military spending now dwarfs the level of military spending by the rest of the world. The American military budget is larger than the total military budgets of the next 15 closest rivals – COMBINED. With only 5% of the Earth’s population, the US military budget makes up nearly half of the planet’s military spending. Thanks to the generosity of the American taxpayer, it looks like world peace will finally be arriving any day now.
CHOOSING BETWEEN FREEDOM OR SLAVERY
Claudio Grass discusses the American writer Randolph Bourne (1886-1918) essay that defines a Country as “an inescapable group into which we are born” and a State as “a concept of power, of competition; it signifies a group in its aggressive aspects”. Bourne explains “We have the misfortune of being born not only into a Country but into a State, and as we grow up we learn to mingle the two feelings into a hopeless confusion”. In Bourne’s view, war is the chief function of a State and we cannot end war without taking measures to end the State in its traditional form. Grass explains how, in his opinion, each of us today must choose either freedom or slavery.
NARCOTIC DRUGS ARE A STRATEGIC NATIONAL RESOURCE
This article by Douglas Valentine explains that narcotic drugs are a strategic national resource and reveals how the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has worked since the Second World War (WWII) to consolidate control of the U.S. government’s worldwide drug regulation and trafficking ability. The British East India Company (founded in 1600) which once controlled one-half of all the world’s trade and was the biggest drug trafficker of all time would probably have been very proud.
HOW THE FED IS PURPOSELY DESTROYING THE ECONOMY
Independent researcher Steve St. Angelo directs our attention to a new video “They Come From Planet Klepto”. It explains how the Fed has been purposely destroying the U.S. economy. The Fed has printed created on computers 1.3 trillion dollars ($1,300,000,000,000) and handed it over to the banks to prop them up. In return, the Fed has received nearly worthless “paper” assets. The banks however are holding all this money as “excess reserves” on deposit with the Fed and collecting interest on it instead of actually loaning it out to stimulate the growth of American economy. Could it be that criminals at the Fed are actually an “accessory after the fact” to one of the largest financial crimes of all time?
NEW DATA REVEALS U.S. FAR FROM FREEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD
According to the annual Economic Freedom of the World report, the United States has dropped to number 16 in an index of economic freedom. Author John Vibes writes that a new study released by the Fraser Institute, ranks countries around the world by factors that include the size and scope of government: expenditures, taxes, enterprises, legal structure and security of property rights, access to sound money, freedom to trade internationally, and regulation of credit, labor, income levels and poverty rates. At the top of the list of economically-free countries are Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Jordan, Ireland, and Canada. The United States was number 16, continuing a downward trend that has grown for several years.
