On December 7, forces of Saudi Arabia intercepted a combat unmanned aerial vehicle, which was launched by the Yemeni Houthis (officially known as Ansar Allah) at a target in the south of the Kingdom.

The Saudi official SPA agency quoted a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition as the following:

Statement by the Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki “Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this afternoon (Monday) a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in the Southern Region.”

Meanwhile, in Yemen, the Houthis have been developing an advance in the direction of the provincial capital of Marib province, which is still controlled by pro-Saudi forces:

  • On December 6, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 2 airstrikes on Madghal area;
  • On December 6, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted airstrikes on Nihm area;
  • As of December 7, Ansar Allah and its allies have been developing their advance towards Marib;
  • On December 7, Ansar Allah attacked positions of Saudi-led forces in the Asahel area;
  • On December 7, Ansar Allah attacked positions of Saudi-led forces in the Kufil area and east of Madghal.

Was the graphic above done in a hurry? Why would Saudi Arabia try to grab Saudi Arabia?

Huh? Did they change something wwinsti? Looks OK to me. The graphic shows the operations near Marib in west-central Yemen. The UAV was (supposedly) shot down in southern Saudi Arabia – well out of the map’s depicted area.

“Why would Saudi Arabia try to grab Saudi Arabia?” Because it’s the only army they can defeat today? You know… kind of a morale booster. The king will give them some medals and ribbons. They’ll have a big celebration with a camel beauty pageant. Maybe a few beheadings to lighten up the mood.

Unarmed drone?.. Its seems the houthis new tactics is to send them dummie drones to waste their expensive missiles trying to intercept it…

I love the robo quote that Saudi commander X gives for every single drone / missile that they intercept. It’s as if the Houthis have never hit a military target in 5yrs but somehow manage to drive the Saudis back. It’s miraculous.

“deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in the Southern Region.”

How are the Saudis intercepting drones these days, are they still doing it w/Patriot missiles? Up to $3M, I bet the drone cost a lot less than that.
