On November 16, Adel Jubeir the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia accused Iran of acting aggressively. During an interview with Reuters, Jubeir said that Saudi Arabia is only reacting to the Iranian “aggression”.
“Any way you look at it, they (the Iranians) are the ones who are acting in an aggressive manner. We are reacting to that aggression and saying, ‘Enough is enough. We’re not going to let you do this anymore’,” Jubeir told Reuters.
During the interview, Jubeir also revealed that Saudi Arabia is consulting with its allies about the strategy they should use against Lebanese Hezbollah “when the time comes”. The Saudi Foreign Minister also accused Hezbollah of being a subsidiary of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and said that in order to stabilize Lebanon, Hezbollah should become a political party only.
“Whenever we see a problem, we see Hezbollah act as an arm or agent of Iran and this has to come to an end,” said Jubeir.
In a related development, a Lebanese source, told Reuters that Lebanon Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri is expected to leave Saudi Arabia for France within 48 hours. After visiting Paris, Hariri will reportedly fly back to Lebanon to officially submit his resignation.
Earlier, Jubeir told reporters during during a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in Riyadh that Hariri is free to leave Saudi Arabia.
“Saad Hariri lives in the kingdom by his own will and he resigned. Regarding his return to Lebanon, it is up to him and his assessment to the Lebanese security situation,” Jubeir said.
Jubeir statements regarding Hezbollah and Iran, and Hariri resignation show us that Saudi Arabia is serious about facing Hezbollah in Lebanon. However, Saudi Arabia is clearly not rushing into another war outside of its border, instead Saudi Arabia will likely wait and hope that Israel fire the first round on Hezbollah.

They are getting very worried that they have not gotten a major war started to cover up their destruction of the world economy through astronomic debts where they have effectively pillaged the world economy on a humungous scale. Their crimes are so gigantic and global in reach including: the rape of all the economies of the world, acquisition of all major assets from property, natural resources, companies to land at pennies on the dollar; peadophilia of an industrial scale; creating wars for their own purposes in which they have often financed both sides for money and then decide to determine the most suitable outcome for them, regardless of the killing of millions of people and massive destruction of infrastructure and property; child prostitution and murder for entertainment and the dreadful list goes on and on. Mostly agree with what you say. I would only say that the targets for war are not Iran, Hezbollah, or even Lebanon. The reason is that those are now what can be characterised as hard targets. Remember why they invaded Iraq, “because it was the low hanging fruit”, in other words a soft target with enormous resources. My guess is that they will turn primarily towards Africa, as they see it as a softer target than the ME, with large amount of known resources.
The issue is ground troops. Who is willing to deploy ground troops. Only Iran, Hezbollah and Syrian Arab Army are more than willing to send ground troops. Israel was defeated by Hezbollah in 2006. Its only experience since is fighting against women and children in Gaza. Saudi Arabia’s military experience is only sending Al Qaeda to do its head chopping, and it has failed miserably in Yemen. It appears to me that Israel and Saudi Arabia are in a state of panic.

Russia and China are vast countries with huge populations. They’re both playing very smart games. China is expanding–economically, militarily–at extremely rapid pace. China holds enormous reserves of US Treasury bonds–a Damocles sword over US and US economy. Israel has already said they will not start a war–a ground war–against Hezbollah, at least for now. Rough terrain, and like the US, Israeli people have low tolerance for casualties. I think there will be more threats, more bellicose speeches, a lot of sound and fury–but strongly doubt either Saudi Arabia or Israel will go to war–against Hezbollah, against Syria, or against Iran. And strongly doubt that US, despite Trump’s heated rhetoric, will send ground forces in any larger numbers back into Middle East. What we’re looking at today is simply a new status quo (which is, actually, not so different from status quo previous to invasion of Iraq and creation of ISIS/ISIL). Iran is in somewhat stronger position. Russians have reaffirmed their support for Syria. Hezbollah remains dominant political group in Lebanon. For all the huffing and puffing by US, Saudis and Israelis, Europeans will probably go along with this new status quo, as it means refugees, at least substantial numbers, can return to their homes.
Saudi Arabia uses mercenaries – in both Syria (proxy Jihadist factions) and Yemen (any state that needs cash and offers up their soldiers, Sudan etc). The Saudi military is ruled by al-Saud family nepotism and clan loyalty, not merit and competence, this means a poor and distrustful chain of command and very questionable commitment from lower ranks in any actual combat. Their air force requires British and US operations officers and maintenance engineers to actually operate in Yemen due to gaping lack of proficiently trained Saudi’s. The al-Saud’s have an expensively equipped military and well advertised complete US protection for their regime – but there is absolutely no evidence to suggest the Saudi’s can seriously wage any form of successful offensive warfare.
Saudi Arabia is incapable of waging war in any real sense of the term. It has never allowed its citizens to acquire the educations necessary to administer a modern state, run modern corporations, or man a modern military. Despite possession of vast array of advanced weaponry, Saudis do not possess the knowledge or expertise required to use it. Ask any European or American who’s worked in Saudi Arabia. The country is stuck in the Dark Ages–educationally, culturally, technologically–and you can be certain Prince Mohamed, who like his predecessors relies on torture and butchery to maintain control, has no real intention of ending this state of affairs..
My father worked in KSA after the Sauds bought their first round of F-15s (Peace Sun II) under Reagan’s auspices, which was implemented with the help of Israel. We came home with many stories that reflect exactly what you have stated…The Sauds paid dearly for this work, but were left with incompetence. Their biggest problem? The ones being ‘instructed’ were mostly extended members of the royals (officers)…they were above being educated by infidels, so they had proxies to be taught. Problem? Proxies were not given ranks and certification of their training…that went to the Sauds that hired them as proxies, who couldn’t perform any of the duties assigned to them. It was common for these dumb asses to have collisions with ground objects and never get off the ground. Obviously this has changed somewhat, but judging from their success in Yemen, it hasn’t changed dramatically. The one thing that stood out about the Saudi military was their incompetence and that has definitely not changed…when it came to the people of KSA, they mostly did not like us (infidels and friends of the HoS), we did not venture out of compounds without protection and it was clear from those that were friendly that the royals would all be dead in a day if they did not have brutal policing. The House of Saud was hated by their people. My father had also previously worked in Iran in the mid-late 70s. His impression of the Iranians was that they were not only much smarter, but very friendly and eager to learn. If KSA and Israel have intentions of attacking Hez/Lebanon/Iran…they better hire a lot more proxies…or get NATO involved somehow.
