Saudi Arabia Says It Foiled Attack With Four Drones, Ballistic Missile On Jizan

Early on September 17, the Saudi-led coalition announced that it had intercepted and shot down four suicided drones and a ballistic missile which were launched from the Yemen by the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

According to the coalition, the main target of the attack was the southern Saudi city of Jizan. The drones and the ballistic missile were intercepted before they could reach the city.

“We are taking operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects in accordance with the international humanitarian law,” the coalition said in a statement.

A few hours before the attack, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Houthis, said that the group will soon announce a “large-scale operation” that took place in Yemen as well as inside Saudi Arabia. The group will also release combat footage from the operation.

The attack on Saudi Arabia’s Jizan came following the withdrawal of all US missile defense systems from the oil-rich Kingdom.

In order to make up for the loss of US support, Saudi Arabia rented a Patriot battery from Greece. Now, the Kingdom is reportedly eyeing Russia’s S-400 “Triumph” long-range air-defense system as a possible replacement for US missile defense systems.

The Houthis will likely take advantage of the current defensive gab in Saudi Arabia and intensify their drone and missile attacks on the Kingdom.

What the saudis have to say is worth used toilet paper. The “princelings” enjoy their cocaine too much while crashing high end vehicles in beverly hills.
