The Saudi Ministry of Defense revealed on September 18 new information about the recent attack on key oil facilities in the Kingdom.
In a press conference held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, a spokesman for the ministry, Col. Turki al-Malki, said that the Kingdom has evidence that Iran was involved in the attack, denying that the Yemeni Houthis were behind it.
“Aramco attack didn’t target Saudi Arabia only, but also the international community and energy security,” the spokesman said.
Col. al-Malki said that Saudi Arabia is sure that the attack was not launched from Yemen, claiming that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles operated by the Houthis can’t reach Abqaiq and Khurais in the eastern part of the Kingdom.
According to the spokesman, eighteen UAVs and seven cruise missiles were used in the attack. All of them came from the northern direction and not from the direction of Yemen.
During the conference, the ministry showcased the wreckage of seven delta-wing UAVs and two cruise missiles used in the attacks.

While the missiles were identified as Iranian-made Ya-Ali cruise missiles by the Saudi MoD, experts claimed that they are identical to the Houthis’ Qudis-1 missile. As for the UAVs, their type was not determined. However, Col. al-Malki noted that similar UAVs were showcased in Iran before.

In last few days, many senior U.S. officials claimed that the attack was launched from Iran territory. A claim that the Saudi MoD declined to confirm.
The attack on Aramco’s facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais damaged Saudi Arabia’s oil sector. The Kingdom was forced to lower its oil exports for several days, which led to a temporary spike in oil prices.
What is the conclusion here? Same type of weaponry used on different attacks on Saudi soil including latest. Both UAV and cruise missile have waypoint capability’s, unless you have their complete fly path on radar logs including their launch site, you can’t be really sure of which direction it came.

I have been reading the Houthi website. They don’t seem to care that the Saudis are blaming them. They don’t even address the matter.

I can tell you right now flat out that those blue cruise missiles in the back are Yemeni Quds-1 cruise missiles, not Iranian Ya-Ali cruise missiles. I know what both of them look like and that is absolutely a Houthi Quds-1. On the other hand the Quds-1 is made from a prototype based on the Ya-Ali. The Houthi manufacture their own cruise missiles, drones, etc. They base them on Iranian prototypes but they modify them somewhat. Hezbollah engineers are the people who help the Houthis build these missiles and drones based on Iranian prototypes. I am not aware that Iranians are involved in the process.
The attacks came from the west and there are a number of videos on Youtube from Saudis who live west of the oil complex. In the videos you can hear the distinct sound of drones coming in. The Saudis in the videos say that they saw the drones approach the oil complex from the west, heading due east towards the refinery.

I watched the press conference live, it was given by a saudi military spokesperson and he was speaking in ENGLISH! LOL! In the very heart of consecrated muslim-Arab land, English is used to explain an attack on oil pipes, for the benefit of CNN, SKY, FOXNEWS etc. Simply, Arab Saudi Arabia is crying ‘foul’ in English LOL!
And as soon as this stupid saudi press conference finished, the Yemeni military spokesperson, speaking in Arabic, responded immediately and basically said: ‘We Yemenis sent the drone swarm, we don’t care if they believe us or not and if saudi doesn’t promptly stop its war on Yemen, then we’re gonna do it again and again and again till they do’.
