Over the past few months, Ansar Allah (also known as the Houthis) have pressured Saudi-backed forces in Yemeni provinces of al-Jawf and Marib capturing significant areas this. This advance put Saudi-backed forces in the central part of Yemen in a critical situation and crated for them a threat of a full lose of Marib province. This situation would mark another collapse of their defense there and showcase that the Saudi-led coalition has been slowly but steadily losing the war.
This situation forced the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies to undertake more active actions. Just recently, they launched a large attack on Houthi positions in al-Jawf province forcing them to retreat from the Nodhood mountain area. However, this is far from a major success. If in the coming days Saudi-led forces do not develop the momentum, the Houthis will likely once again retake the initiative in the province.

While the Saudis are taking a beating from warriors in sandals, you have to hand it to the Iranians for rubbing US nose into the ground, they are in the process of holding the largest combined arms exercises with over 300 aircraft have displayed over 60 completely upgraded F-14A with a copper nosed AESA radar. The F-14 Persian Cats appear to look pristine new, even the landing gear hydraulics are factory fresh. Iranians must be making these parts as the US totally embargoed all spares since 1979.
