The Houthis (Ansar Allah) were responsible for the recent attack on the Aden-based Yemeni government in Aden Airport, Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed said in an interview with the Associated Press.
Several projectiles hit Aden Airport on December 30 shortly after a plane carrying the Yemeni government arrived from Saudi Arabia. At least 25 people were killed as result of the attack. More than 100 others were wounded.
In the interview, which was released by the AP on January 2, Abdulmalik said the attack was meant “to eliminate” the new government.
“It’s a major terrorist attack that was meant to eliminate the government,” Abdulmalik said. “It was a message against peace and stability in Yemen.”
The Saudi-backed prime minister said three precision-guided missiles struck Aden Airport, targeting his plane, the arrival hall and the VIP lounge. He added that the missile’s accuracy was “great” and the operation was “huge.”
According to Abulmalik, Yemeni investigators have collected the remains of the missiles. Experts from the Saudi-led coalition and the U.S. will determine the type and origins of the missiles.
The new Yemeni government was formed last month in the framework of the 2019 Riyadh agreement that put an end to a heated crisis between pro-Saudi parities and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council.
The Houthis denied their involvement in the attack on Aden Airport suggesting that it was a result of the internal conflict among Saudi-led coalition proxies.
The Saudi-led coalition escalated its operations on several fronts in Yemen after the attack on its proxy government in Aden Airport.
- The Liaison and Coordination Officers’ Operations Room (loyal to Ansar Allah) reported 242 ceasefire violations in al-Hudaydah during the past 24 hours.
- On January 1, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted airstrikes on the Salif district.
- On January 1, artillery of Saudi-led forces shelled a wedding ceremony in the Houk area killing 3 people and wounding 7 others.
- On January 1, local sources reported an explosion in the Shekh Uthman district of Aden.
The attack on the Yemeni government was a major blow to the Saudi-led coalition, which is still failing to secure Aden, the main Yemeni city under its control.
Brother Erdogan and Qatar are not so bad in this war are they.
Yemen is a Shia majority country and largely under historical Iranian influence. The Saudi idiots picked on the wrong people and are now stuck in a quagmire that is getting worse by the day.
50% of Yemenis fighters are Sunnis. Saudis aren’t even Muslims. Rather Wahhabis, as all we know. Death to Arabia Saudia. Yemen will prevail.
That’s true, MbS is thinking about taking a back seat and the King is not in it for the long haul, Biden is about to flip Trump’s policies accross the board, hoping to split China from Russia, as it was under Obama.
But it’s not only Iran and Yemen facing off with Saudi Arabia Israel and the UAE it’s Allah (swt) Israel is a bastard state, they have no Redeemer, that’s why Allah (swt) sent me Jesus Christ in 1950 not 1947 so there is no way the maggot Jews could use me as their leader.
