On May 10, the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies captured the center of the Mawza district in the western part of the southwestern Taiz province, according to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV.
The coalition reportedly forced the Houthis to withdraw from the district’s center after it had captured the strategic al-Brah region, northeast of it, effectively cutting off the Houthis’ supply lines in Taiz.
A Yemeni source told the Gulf Today news outlet that Saudi-led coalition warplanes had supported the attack on the Mawza district, which could explain the rapid advance of Saudi-backed forces.
The Saudi-led coalition and its local proxies began their advance towards the al-Brah region on May 3. The Houthis launched several counter attacks around the region in an attempt to stop the coalition advance, but their efforts failed.
Al-Arabiya said that the Saudi-led coalition will continue its advance in in the western part of Taiz province towards the areas of al-Kadha and al-Ma’afr. According to local observers, the final goal of the coalition is to lift the Houthis’ siege on the Taiz province center and to secure supply lines for its troops on the western coast of Yemen.
Death to America, death to Israel? We will see about that…
Yap, we sure will. They are begging for it and they do so much for self-destruction. I kind-a like it. No need for Putin to move a finger.
