On September 13, the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies captured the key area of “Kilo 16,” between the district center of al-Durayhimi and the city of al-Hudaydah on the western Yemeni coast, according to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV.
After capturing the area, the coalition managed to block the highway between al-Hudaydah and the Yemeni capital of Sanaa and imposed control of the nearby al-Hudaydah university. Al-Arabiya claimed that the coalition killed many Houthis during its advance, including two field commanders.
On the other side, the Houthis’ media wing announced that Houthi fighters killed 15 personnel of the Saudi-led coalition and destroyed two vehicles during heavy clashes on the western coast of Yemen. A day earlier, the Houthis announced that they repelled a large-scale offensive of the coalition on their positions around Kilo 16 after killing and injuring 45 Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters.
If the Saudi-led coalition secures its new positions in Kilo 16, it will likely work to pressure the Houthis in al-Durayhimi and continue its advance towards al-Hudaydah and its strategic port.
lets see if they manage first to hold more than few hours if that, what they claim they capture and may be we take them seriously, if they manage to survive the day.
