On March 28, the Saudi-led coalition announced that its aerial forces had destroyed two booby-trapped boats of the Houthis (Ansar Allah).
Coalition warplanes struck the two boats with precision-guided munitions off the coast of al-Hudaydah city in western Yemen. A video showing the two airstrikes was shared by the Saudi Press Agency.

The Houthis have been targeting Saudi-led coalition warships with water born-improvised explosive devices (WBIEDs) for several years. In 2017, a report by the Conflict Armament Research (CAR) revealed that Iranian-made components were used in the Yemeni group’s WBIEDs.
Earlier in March, the Saudi-led coalition’s air-defense means intercepted two suicide drones, which were reportedly launched by the Houthis from Yemen.
According to the coalition, the drones were on their way to attack the city of Khamis Mushait in the southern region of the Kingdom. The Houthis have not commented on these claims yet.
In the last few months, the Houthis stepped up their attacks on Saudi Arabia. Earlier this week, the group launched 18 drones and eight missiles at the Kingdom in a large attack dubbed “Operation National Day of Resilience”.
