On November 7, the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies stormed the southern part of the city of al-Hudaydah on the western Yemeni coast and advanced in the key street of Sanaa, which splits the city in the middle, according to the Sky News Arabia TV.

The UAE-based channel reported that coalition warplanes backed the troops on the ground and carried out a series of airstrikes on positions and weapons of the Houthis. As a result, more than 35 Houthi fighters were killed.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni al-Masirah TV said that the Saudi-led coalition artillery shelled several areas inside the city of al-Hudaydah killing a civilian and injuring 10 others.

The Saudi-led coalition launched a large-scale military offensive on al-Hudaydah on November 3. Contrary to its previous attacks on the Houthi-held city, the coalition made significant advance on the ground and reached the eastern, western and southern entrances of the city within 24 hours.

The Houthis are currently carrying out defensive operations in the outskirt of al-Hudaydah to fend off the Saudi-led coalition attack.

UAE relies for much of the planning and co-ordination of their forces in Yemen on elements of Australian (and some French to babysit the Leclerc MBTs ! ) staff officers embedded at Dubai – a mixture of “retired” contract and seconded personnel – all very hush-hush !

Potato Potato

Without western help, UAE soldiers wouldn’t be able to tie their own shoes.

abuqahwa

Yes and no-one mentions the losses of Leclerc tanks. How embarassing for the French !

goingbrokes

Interesting. The French presence is easily explained. Do you have more information about the Australian involvement? Any details or links!

Pave Way IV

Technically not direct AU state involvement – just Aussie retired Gen. Hindmarsh whoring out his mad command skillz to build the Emirates elite SF Presidential Guard since 2010. Questions of Yemeni war crimes since 2016.

Then there’s the cannon-fodder Aussie (among others) mercs in separate UAE units. Hindmarsh runs the Yemen show for the UAE so he still ultimately commands the merc units even though they may not be in the Presidential Guard. More on the war crimes and ICC accusations.

RT: Australian govt ‘took months to realise’ its citizens were being accused of war crimes in Yemen Who? Us, mate?

The entire Saudi/UAE leadership consists of ex-military Western commanders or US Army/Marine Corps military advisors. Arab Saudi high ranking officers only have their rank for increased pay…

World_Eye

So the Houthis are losing the port damn it.

Ronald

It’s not lost yet. Today is Dawali’, the Hindu celebration of the victory of Light over Darkness.

That Guy

That doesn’t give any real hope for anyone lol

Ronald

Nonsense to you maybe, not knowing about Hinduism. Its foundation is based on “Non-belief”. Purification of mental attachments (beliefs ) via any one of the108 forms of meditation, yields “Pure Mind”. When that is achieved, Enlightenment, or direct contact with the Reality. A bare outline for you. Easily observable is that thought or consciousness has power. Just trying to send the Houthi warriors a protective shield of energy.

Potato Potato

I think Saudi coalitions’ awful track record gives A LOT of hope lmfao.

That Guy

Well, this one does actually give a hope for sure, because it is based on facts, not mythology.

Hisham Saber

Sky News Arabia is run out of UAE. Its completely biased and regularly dispatches disinformation on its news site.

Hudabiya will hold. The Houthi’s will launch a counterattack, just wait and see. The war is one of attrition in Hudabiya, and iy favors the Houthi’s who are locals and tribesmen loyal to their country. THe Saudi’s and UAE’s are using Sudanese mercs and others, even Colombians, who are taking serious casualties.

That Guy

You are not even naming it correctly.

Smaug

A single armored cavalry battalion would end this within hours, but instead we get this nonsense of a siege.

That Guy

Armored cavalry for an urban area filled with buildings, I don’t see this as a good idea. However, there is another thing they could do if they don’t care about civilian casualties. They start with a massive bombardment with airstrikes and artillery on the whole city, coordinated with attacking Armored cavalry followed by assault troops on a certain point to shake enemy lines of defense and enter the city immediately, and the city will be captured in a day. This tactic is WW2 tested, German quality lol.

Smaug

You don’t know what I’m talking about, do you?

That Guy

Armored cavalry. Recon team in armored vehicles of different levels of armor. Good mobility in open areas. Could perform hit and run effectively. Could be a good choice to perform a Blitzkrieg with, however the high mobility advantage might be acutely hampered in hostile urban areas without heavy air support.

Smaug

Good to see you can use google, but it isn’t that simple.

Potato Potato

Thing is only AMERICAN or NATO Armored Cav could defeat houthis. Saudi armored cav can’t because they are too STUPID to fight properly.

That Guy

I knew that the term armored cavalry is associated with high mobility and hit and run tactics, but I just checked my information twice before knowing what are you about.

Smaug

No, dude. It is not. Take it from a former tanker.

That Guy

Oh I see. It’s good to learn something new. No sarcasm, seriously.

Potato Potato

Armored cavalry could actually function well in urban combat. But again they must be well trained and motivated, complete opposite of the Saudi morons.

That Guy

This same column in medium armour, if they tried to pass through Mosul during the ISIS rule, they would’ve been shredded by ATGMs and IEDs. But they probably have updated their tanks by now, and probably would perform well in that area, but still passing through ISIS Mosul would be a pain in the ass for anyone no matter how well trained the army is.

Promitheas Apollonious

you are so right. the problem with this move, is they missing the moron, to lead the way. Are you volunteering?

DaBoiiiii

You’re a dumbass, you keep your mouth shut. According to you, this war would be over in 3 days instead of 4 years and going. You are not as smart as you think you are.

Smaug

You’re the fourth person in a row to show thay you don’t really know what armored Cav is. And I wasn’t exactly complementing the Saudis on their performance. You obviously just want to control people with words, and mute.

Rafik Chauhan

Houthis will cut them off soon wait and watch this is the tactic Houthis use to let them in and cut them off .its only that Israel and US giving this mercinaries and terriost logistic support and satellite positin of houthis . otherwise this mercineries army will be massacred by houthis .

Smaug

Good lord, none of you idiots even know what armored Cav is, and you’re proclaim the invincibility of a militia….

Potato Potato

Armored Cav, Armored Shmav, whatever. Problem is Saudis are too ret@rded to do proper armored warfare.

Smaug

You should talk, Mr keyboard warrior.

Potato Potato

Why are you defending the incredibly incompetent Saudi Army? You’re the real keyboard warrior here, coming up with all sorts of suggestions like “HURR DURR JUST DO ARMORED CAV N1GGA LOL”
