The Saudi-led coalition and forces loyal to Saudi-backed Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi are preparing to launch a military operation to capture the al-Garrahi district in the southern part of the province of al-Hudaydah, the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV reported on February 11.

The Al-Garrahi district is an important area in western Yemen as it is located on the highway towards the strategic al-Hudayda port, 95km northwest of it. According to Yemeni sources, the Saudi-led coalition is currently 10km south of the center of the al-Garrahi district.

Al-Arabiya also reported that pro-Hadi forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition are preparing to launch a new military operation in the heartland of the Houthis, Saada province in northern Yemen. The media outlet said that the Saudi-led coalition is planning to recapture several positions and districts in the province, without providing further details.

From its side, the Houthis have redeployed many units to Saada province and fortified their positions there ahead of the new Saudi-led coalition attack, according to al-Arabiya.

The Saudi-led coalition launched similar attacks against the Houthis in northern and western Yemen in the start of 2018. However, both attacks failed due to the effective resistance of the Houthis.

Suggest that the Yemenis get hold of a few MANPADS.

Iraqis need to smuggle anti-air missiles through the desert of Saud into Yemen. It is time to turn the air equation around in Yemen as was just turned around in Syria a few days ago.
