On January 25, forces loyal to Saudi-backed Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Saudi-led coalition launched a new military operation to break the Houthis siege on the city of Taiz, the capital of the southwestern Taiz province.
In the beginning of the operation, pro-Hadi forces attacked several key positions of the Houthis in the areas of al-Zunuj, al-Arba’yn, al-Hwjalah and Wa’sh Mount in the outskirt of Taiz, according to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV. Pro-Hadi fighters reportedly destroyed two battle tanks and four vehicles of the Houthis in their attack.
Saudi-led coalition warplanes supported the advance and destroyed several positions of the Houthis around Tazi, including three ammo depots, according to al-Arabiya.
Pro-Hadi forces have been besieged by the Houthis inside Taiz city since the outbreak of the Yemeni war in 2015. On August 18, 2016 the Saudi-led coalition was able to open a route towards the city. However, the Houthis maintained their key positions around it.
The new operation is likely another attempt by the Saudi-led coalition to make a significant military achievement in its war on the Houthis, especially after it failed to reach the city of al-Hudaydah in western Yemen in December, 2017.

Western countries used to do their own starvation genocides. UK blockades of Germany 1919 and India 1943 caused millions to die. Now since it is not politically palatable, they contract the task to Wahhabistani Orcs and pretend they aren’t involved.

You forget the equal partners that shares in this crime against humanity, UAE,US,UK NATO bunch of hypocrites in backing the quest of US imperialism. Abdur Rabu Mansur Hadi <– took power from Abdullah Saleh but Hadi was too weak to rule the Yemen therefore, the corruption was too high. Houthis had start complaining and when Hadi failed to rule so he resigned twice, then Houthis took the power of Yemen. So this was Yemen internal affair in which Saudi Arabia should not interfere.
In Yemen war US provides weapons and intelligence support to Saudi-led coalition forces, which reportedly include assistance in military targets in Yemen. It indicates that Trump indirectly attacks Yemen through Saudi led collation because Trump shows targets to Saudi led collation in Yemen. That is why Saudi led collation air forces targeting funerals, Mosques, schools, hospitals, markets etc.
Enough is enough now president Putin, Rouhani and Xi must opened blocked on Houthis and send them humanitarian support and rescue them from Saudis butchers. Call both parties to Sochi for negotiation at least for the small kids that have no food, medicines and shelters.
