On January 3, the Saudi-led coalition and pro-Hadi forces resumed their advance towards the strategic port of al-Hudaydah on the Yemeni western coast, according to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV.
The media outlet said that pro-Hadi forces captured the village of Saida, the Arfan bridge and the Zaumy valley south of Hays district located 110km south of the al-Hudaydah port.
Hays district was captured by the Saudi-led coalition on December 10, 2017. However, only few days later the Houthis recaptured the district in a rapid counter attack.
Meanwhile, the Houthis conducted several hit and run attacks against the positions of the Saudi-led coalition and pro-Hadi forces around Yakhtul town 60km south of Hays district. Houthi fighters destroyed three vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition with rocket-propelled grenades, and one other with an ATGM around Yakhtul in the last 48 hours according to the Houthis media wing.
So far, the Houthis have besieged the Saudi-led coalition and pro-Hadi forces at the western coast of Yemen from the northern, eastern and southern directions. However, the Saudi-led coalition is resupplying its forces there via the sea with landing ships. This allows them to continue its military operation towards the al-Hudaydah port.
Once the UAE mercs have control of the coast, they will be able to starve the Yemenis inland in secrecy and with impunity until Yemenis obey their Saudi overlords (or die – UAE don’t care either way). The US will have the blood of millions of Yemenis on their hands forever for supporting this genocide. Funny all the interest US leaders suddenly have liberty and freedom of the Iranians, but ignore the same demands of the Yemeni people like they’re some kind of human garbage.
