The Houthis have accused the U.S. Agency for International Development (AID) of supplying ammunition to the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies.

At the conference on July 7, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari presented photos of what he claimed to be ammunition supplied by the U.S. AID to Saudi-backed forces. The ammunition was captured by Houthi fighters during recent military operations in the provinces of Ma’rib and al-Bayda.

The photos show loads of ammunition, including dozens of 115 mm tank shells, all bearing a logo reading “United States of America.”

“The American regime is behind the [Saudi] aggression, it is arming, setting targets and covering the aggression politically and morally,” Brig. Gen. Sair said, adding that this was not the first time the Houthis captured ammunition which U.S. AID logo.

The logo on the ammunition captured by the Houthis is almost identical to the logo usually used by U.S. AID. However, it is not the same.

The ammunition captured by the Houthis were in fact carrying a logo related to the 1949 Mutual Defense Assistance Act. Under this act, the U.S. supplied loads of ammunition and weapons to a number of countries around the world to crop Soviet influence.

Yemen is not the only battlefield where ammunition supplied under the Mutual Defense Assistance Act was spotted. Ammunition with the same logo was spotted in Syria before.

Saudi Arabia is apparently buying old ammunition from U.S. allies to supply its proxy forces in Yemen. The exact source of these weapons remain unclear. Turkey, which benefited from the Mutual Defense Assistance Act, is one of the possible sources.

The Objective

Turkey won’t help Saudi Arabia. The author is either mistaken or wants to paint a bad image of turkey be because of Libya, and Syria.

Turkey is recruiting Wahhabi mercenaries from Aden. It is reported in media, including Indian media.

The Objective

For a different purpose, but not to help the house of Saud

Daily Beatings

Dates on the munitions in the pictures are 11-52, which is November 1952. I don’t believe the US ever produced a 115 mm round, so it must be another caliber.

Ashok Varma

US should be ashamed for fanning bloodshed and wars.
