Saudi-led Coalition Working To Encircle Houthi-held Town Of Harad In Northwestern Yemen (Map)

Forces of the Saudi-UAE-coalition have kicked off an effot to encircle and retake the town of Harad in northwestern Yemen from the Houthis. According to reports, coalition forces have expanded a buffer zone near the village of Hayran and advanced on the so-called Ahem Triangle south of Harad.

Recently, warplanes of the coalition carried out a few strikes on Houthi targets in northwestern Yemen, mostly in the countryside of Harad. These strikes were also aimed at supporting the ongoing advance.

If the coalition establishes control of Harad, it will allow to secure the port city of Midi from a possible advance by the Houthis from the eastern direction. This will allow the coalition to consolidate further its gains in this part of the war-torn country.

Smaug

It looks like they’re trying to seize the other Houthi ports and approach Hudeidah from the north.

You can call me Al

This is not good news. The houthi, need to go behind the front lines and attack from behind.

putinbeater

ih shias were brave, the would revolt in saudi arabia.

That Guy

Just to get crushed, since they are a tiny minority there, and the scenario that I would anticipate for such an action is as follows: Since Shiites are hated in Saudi Arabia by the majority of the population, and the people over there are aware of their danger, the Saudi government will mobilize the population against the Shiites, and the population would be more than happy to crush such a revolution, especially if this revolution is willing to become armed. Soooo… it is a bad idea.

putinbeater

in differenet gulf-countries 20-40%. no tiny minority.

That Guy

Bahrain and Kuwait, yes maybe. But still, such a thing already happened in Bahrain, and the result of the revolution in Bahrain was still an utter failure even though they were not a tiny minority. Soooo….. yup still a bad idea, but nice try tbh.

That Guy

Let the Houthis hit the floor!
