The military situation west of the Yemeni city of Marib remains critical for pro-Saudi forces. After retreating from a number of important positions there during the last weeks, Saudi proxies still do not seem to be ready to surrender the city to the Ansar Allah movement (more widely known as the Houthis).
- On December 9, Ansar Allah repelled attacks of Saudi-led forces north of the Madghal area;
- On December 9, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 4 airstrikes on the Mjazar area.
On December 10, clashes between the Houthis and pro-Saudi forces continued in the western countryside of Marib. Saudi counter-attacks have not resulted in any breakthrough and the Houthis are still deployed in a striking distance from the provincial capital.
I will get a bottle of Irish to celebrate when Marib falls.
