On September 27, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured several positions around the town of al-Susah, in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, following heavy clashes with ISIS fighters, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The UK-based monitoring group said that US-led coalition warplanes and artillery supported the SDF attack and struck several positions and vehicles of the terrorist group around al-Susah.
The SDF, backed by the US-led coalition, launched a large-scale military operation to liberate the ISIS-held pocket in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside on September 11. So far, US-backed forces have captured the towns of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani and al-Shajlah.
The remaining fighters of ISIS appear to be unwilling to fight and overwhelmed by the fire power of the US-led coalition. Because of that, the SDF will likely impose control of al-Susah in the upcoming few days. Then it will continue its advance towards the town of Hajin, the main stronghold of the terrorist group in the area.
They’re probably out of bullets and food by now.
Food is no problem since it’s an agricultural region along a major river. They should have plenty of bullets. They may have a shortage of commanders since the coalition has bombed several of their meetings there.
I hope the article is correct. Fine job.
It’s correct. It may take the SDF a few months to get the job done.
So where is the map? How many ISIS mercs? Can we believe that US backed SDF mercs have really turned on the US-UK-Israeli backed ISIS mercs? Till a few months ago when the SDF bombed or “captured” a ISIS stronghold, ISIS mercs were allowed to escape before the attacks, and many of ISIS mercs were absorbed into SDF ranks or deployed to other theatres. So what is really going on now.? Has the US betrayed their own proxies? Is Southfront a propaganda instrument, or are things just too confusing and convoluted now for anyone with any common sense to really understand what is going on?
Mercs going against each other for a paycheck .
