US-orchestrated collaboration between ISIS an SDF.
Yep. That’s why the SDF can kick ISIS ass during direct assaults. In comparison, the SAA can’t do jack shit until ISIS only has a small rearguard minding the approaches.
They should do what’s right and return them to the legitimate owners :-)
Rule of war is Finders Keepers. :) SDF is sorely lacking of MBT’s. But these two may need a little work (at least a new paint job). https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/30e4425be0b8d624319156aba4b5c9d1fcdeffb0c106f1eeb1456646680c2214.jpg
You mean the Antiquities Museum?
The SDF deservers nothing. Those idiots only keep fucking up. They are traitors.
Why do you assume they are traitors? What did they fuck up?
It was Boas f..ing up, not kurds.
It seems like they’re writing things without understanding why, repeating things that others have written without thinking.
Traitors to whom?
A dictatorship denying democracy, denying nationality to hundereds of thousands of its kurdish citizens, denying all ethnic rights to all kurds and syriacs? A regime using the north east as internal underdeveloped colony?
To get loyalty, you have to deserve loyalty. What did both Assads do to deserve loyalty from the people of northern Syria?
“Ethnic rights ” thats a fallacy. People have individual rights or they don´t have. And a kurd in Syria enjoys exactly the same rights than anybody else in Syria. And your speech about democracy and dictatorship is another fallacy. You really think that you in a “democracy” have an influence about the going of the world? The Truman-doctrine is the most fallacious reasoning to grant eternal wars and devastation all over the world , all under the pretext of spreading “liberties” … the liberty to choose between Pepsi and Coke.
Y una mierda !! the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights held that “Successive Syrian governments continued to adopt a policy of ethnic discrimination and national persecution against Kurds, completely depriving them of their national, democratic and human rights – an integral part of human existence. The government imposed ethnically-based programs, regulations and exclusionary measures on various aspects of Kurds’ lives – political, economic, social and cultural.”[
If that is the opinion of the High Commissioner of the UN than you can be sure that is absolutely true , (irony off)
Kurds and minorities in general have constantly been discriminated through out history in both Syria and Irak specially in the 1980’s during the arabization policies in northern Syria by Hafez Assad and Irak by Sadam. And continue to be so in Iran and Turkey. No one can neglect that.
On the other hand, Bashar did start some reforms that allowed the Kurds to speak and teach their language in schools plus some financial reforms that allowed more Syrians access to commercial loans so local economies could get a boost.
BS.
BS again.
And you conclude with even more BS again.
And for me to conclude : I prefer Trump over the wonderfull Putins and Assads, Erdogans etc of this world.
Lol
Well, including earlier seizures, the SDF took some 8 tanks and 4 BMP’s from IS around Tabqa. They hope to gain many more in and around Raqqah.
If that works out, they will have an armoured regiment of older (but upgraded by them) tanks when all is done.
Those probably were on display outside of a courthouse or city hall.
As they are Russian made tanks, it would be possible to find out who the purchaser was and whether any other owners are documented. Initial ownership by Libya for instance would be an interesting trail to follow.
They are obviously syrian, duuuuuuuude
And your reasoning behind that is ? They could be BUT the US enabled hundreds of thousands of tonnes of all sorts of weapons to be exported from Libya and paid for by QATAR, Saudi Arabia etc. That is what the US Benghazi fiasco was all about.
Not russian tanks from the 1950s …
Many old models were sold or given by the Soviet Union to countries in the Russian orbit. Just as America supplies its older weapons to nations around the globe. Russia has recently supplied WW2 howitzers to Syria. They work well and are suited to crews that have not had many months of training or the aptitude to use advanced weapons.
Yes but you can’t supply paramilitaries secretly with … ancient tanks.
These are simply syrian tanks, vast amounts of which were lost during retreats. Many were inoperable, like these seem to be.
Military equipment , including tanks were and probably still are supplied via Turkey to the various terror groups. A large part of that equipment was sold, transferred or given to UN designated terror gangs in Syria. US Tow missiles etc have also found their way into Syria from Saudi and QATARI stocks and sources.
Stop mentioning TOW missiles. I am saying it’s hard to organise a clandestine supply network to paramilitaries and provide ancient tanks to them.
I know about TOWs, everyone knows about TOWs…

Other Russian made Soviet Era weapons have also been exported from old Warsaw Pact countries and have been paid for by dubious sources .
Jessé from brazil?
E ai beleza cara !
