On March 28, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) kicked off a security-humanitarian operation in the notorious al-Hawl camp in northeastern Syria.
According to the Hawar News Agency, around 6,000 troops from the SDF, Asayish security forces and the Women’s Protection Units are taking part in the operation.
In an official statement, Asayish acknowledged that the camp, which is located in eastern al-Hasakah, has become a stronghold of ISIS. At least 60,000 people, including relatives of ISIS fighters and suspected members of the terrorist group, are being held there.
“The camp has turned into a stronghold for ISIS, where all forms of terrorism are perpetrated, as civilians are killed and targeted almost on a daily basis,” Ali Hassan, a spokesman for Asayish, said. “Only this year, ISIS killed 47 people inside the camp.”
According to the spokesman, the aim of the ongoing operation is to neutralize ISIS influence in the al-Hawl camp. The terrorist group’s influence in the camp grew significantly over the last year.
The US-led coalition is apparently supporting the operation. An alleged intelligence plane of the coalition was tracked over the al-Hawl Camp when the operation started.

A day earlier, the SDF imposed a strict siege on al-Hawl. A number of checkpoint were established around the camp as well as along the road linking it with al-Hasakah city.
So far, SDF fighters have arrested nine wanted personnel, including an ISIS leader known as “Abu Saad al-Iraqi.” He was reportedly acting as a recruiter for the terrorist group.
Last year, the SDF carried out a similar operation in the al-Hawl camp. The operation, which was backed by the US-led coalition, failed to crop or even contain ISIS threat. The results of the new operation will not likely be any better.
I see that the Hollywood producers are making a new movie. The hero has to be American and black I suppose :) A black L/G/B/T etc etc would tick all the ‘woke’ boxes, or in the case of this snuff movie, a ‘woke’ coffin :)
