The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched on June 4 a large-scale security operation against the remaining ISIS cells in al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.
The operation, which is being carried out in cooperation with the U.S.-led coalition, will cover a vast area lying between the town of al-Shaddadi in the southern countryside of al-Hasakah and the government-held town of al-Bukamal in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to the Hawar News Agency (ANAH), 6,000 personnel of the SDF and its security forces are taking part in the operation. Warplanes of the U.S.-led coalition are providing air support.
So far, 17 ISIS members have been apprehended by the SDF. No major stand-offs or clashes were reported by SDF sources.
In the last few months, the U.S.-led coalition and the SDF neutralized several senior commanders of ISIS in a series of operations in southeast Deir Ezzor.
The SDF’s large operation in al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor will likely improve security in northeast Syria. Nevertheless, the ISIS threat will remain strong. Many of the terrorist group’s cells will lay down until the operation is over.
What?? “The operation, which is being carried out in cooperation with the U.S.-led coalition … .” I would say the US involvement is to warn ISIS away from SDF patrols. If the SDF gets too close to Daesch, the US air cover will probably wind up hitting the SDF by “mistake”.
So funny remark form You again. You might try yoga next time. Things already are upside down for You.
I leave the bullshit and yoga to you. ISIS, more properly Daesch, is recruited, trained and supported by CIA/MOSSAD. You might be the last one to discover what has been going on for ten years, but your ignorance does not erase history and the remnants of the US attempt to take down the Bashar Al Assad government.
SAA’s Masyaf base went into flames tonight, another great hit by the IAF. Eat shit haters :)
There’s no clashes because the US drop in at night time when everyone’s asleep, “wakey wakey it’s time to get put of bed”, which is the best way to get rid of Isis, it’s much easier to do when the local are helping you instead of hindering you, you don’t have to fight Isis or the locals that way. That’s something president Assad could learn to do too, because sometimes you can learn a neat trick or two from the enemy, the Romans definitely did and look how successful they were. Come on Assad, south Deir ez Zor needs the same treatment.
