At least two civilians were killed in southern Turkey on October 11 as a result of shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to the Anadolu Agency.
The state-run news agency said that the deadly shelling targeted the the border district of Suruc in the Sanliurfa province.
A few hours earlier, two journalists of the Anadolu Agency were slightly injured when the Kurdish-dominated group shelled a building they were stationed inside in the Nusaybin district of southeastern Mardin province.
“The terrorists targeted the building with long-range weapons from YPG/PKK occupied areas across the Syrian border,” Anadolu Agency correspondent said.
On October 10, at least five civilians, including a nine-month old baby, were killed in SDF shelling on the border town of Akcakale and the southern province of Mardin.
The SDF has not acknowledged its responsibility for the shelling, so far. Earlier this month, the group warned that it will move the battle to Turkish territory, if Ankara forces attack its areas.

Religious minorities in Afrin forced to convert to Islam – U.S. think-tank Rebel groups in Syria’s Afrin region are forcing religious minorities to convert to Islam according to an article published on Washington based think-tank Gatestone Institute’s website by Syrian-Kurdish journalist Sirwan Kanjo.
Afrin, located in Syria’s north-west has been under the control of the Turkish Army and their Free Syrian Army (FSA) allies since mid-March, following an invasion of the region that began in January.
Christians, Yazidis and Alawites minorities have been forcibly converted to Islam, Yazidi Temples destroyed and women forced to adhere to strict Muslim dress codes since the takeover, Kanjo says. At the same time, Turkey has embarked on a campaign to displace Kurds and religious minorities from the region and replace them with Sunni Turkmen and Arab families.
Kanjo also suggests that the Turkish government and its jihadi allies in the Free Syrian Army (FSA) are discussing formalizing the implementation of Islamic sharia law in Afrin.

Hard core terrorism was all the rage for the SDF at one point, until the Russian military became involved, then the SDF changed their head chopping settings to moderate. The Kurds, with help from the US/nato/isreal, were hoping to use the turmoil created in Syria to split the country into two. That’s some gratitude for an admin which used to treat them fairly well.
If Turkish troops don’t get the SDF then the SAA will. The US/nato/isreal have created another hole for the Kurds before again leaving them to it.
