On October 5, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) imposed control of 6 new positions in the vicinity of the town of Hajin in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the SDF media center. US-backed forces killed 38 terrorists and destroyed three vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) and two bulldozes of ISIS during the clashes around the strategic town.
The SDF has been advancing slowly around Hajin for more than a month now. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed two days ago that a special forces unit of the U.S. Marines was deployed around the town to speed up the operation there. However, the advance is still limited for few positions every day.
Meanwhile, the remaining ISIS fighters in the Euphrates Valley pocket stepped up their defensive operations against US-backed forces. On October 5, the terrorists shelled several positions of the SDF in the town of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani, 25km south of Hajin, with 20 mortar rounds and 5 rocket-propelled grenades.
The US-led coalition will likely step up its airstrikes on the ISIS-held pocket in the upcoming days in order to break the remaining defense lines of the terrorist group.
A little support from Iran as well, but they would never admit that.
Ronald false statement for the sake of being biased is petty
Not a false statement at all, I was referring to the Iranian missile strike on the ISIS “meeting which Iran pounded”, as Garga phrased it, 3 miles from the US Marines. Unfortunate that they missed Baghadi.
So no reply, does that suggest your bias is with the SDF, or the ISIS jihadists ?
Are those Marines there to attack Daesh or extract the remaining commanders who weren’t present at the meeting which Iran pounded? Speed-up the operation for extraction alright.
There are reports about an “un-punctual” Baghdadi who arrived a few minutes late and therefore wasn’t killed.
If the reports are true, this raises the question of “where was he coming from, riding a car?”. Not from the river side, I’d say.
Moral of the story? Remember kids, being on time can cost you your lives!
