The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by the US-led coalition’s airpower, artillery units and military adivsers, have started storming the eastern part of the ISIS-held city of Raqqah.
According to pro-SDF sources, the SDF has already captured the Naznah area in the eastern part of the city and even entered the district of al-Mashalab.
It should be noted that Naznah is located outside tranches digged by ISIS terrorists near Raqqah. This is why this SDF advance looks very likely. At the same time, the situation in al-Mashalab is unclear.
If the SDF does not face a significant resistance in al-Mashalab, the US-backed force will be able to set up a foothold for further advances to the center of the city in this area.

its obvious that the Kurds dont want to waste men and resources on Raqqah.They have left the South side of the city wide open. This is not a siege. its a proposal. leave while you still can. If the Syrians arrive you will not have any means to escape.

its a very wide area to say that it is left for civilians.if you want to encircle a city you just leave a ‘humanitarian corridor’ open for civilians..has happened before in Syria..and it worked…
i wish you guys are right that isis leave the Raqqa like in Al Bab to erdoyan ,like east Aleppo to Saa they did but i dont think so ,just they focus in the center in flats big buildings,tunnels with many mines and civilian shields.
