The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mostly consisting of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), have tightened the siege of the ISIS-controlled town of Tabqa in the Syrian province of Raqqah.
SDF units, supported by the US-led coalition’s airpower and military advisors, captured an important crossroad south of Tabqa (red circle) and got control over a chunk of the only road (red square) linking Tabqa with aonther ISIS stronghold – Raqqah city.

SDF members are in the area of the Tabqa dam. The majority of the dam area is still controlled by ISIS. (photos taken from Aylina Kılıç’s Twitter)
Soon SDF will reach the next dam. If and when they take that dam, they have an extra crossing of the euphrates.
